We had five nights at the Ramada Plaza. Room (on the 3rd floor) was great, with a view over the lake and out to Blackpool. The bed was more comfortable than our one at home! Everything in the room was spotless. Loved the air-con!
Didn't eat or drink in the hotel, which wasn't a problem as the hotel is so close to everything. The only downside was everything shut so early regarding restaurants. We
like to have a few drinks then eat around 10pm......We were hard pressed to find anything decent still open at this time!

Room Tip: When reserving ask for a room on a floors 3 or above.

Alas there is so much uniformity it hotel bedrooms, especially those belonging the main chains. All very clean and nice and clinical. Pleasant staff, but they always miss the personal interchange that can be had at a good B&B. For example, a simple thing, but when I filled out the registration card, I requested a day newspaper, I requested the "i". Admittedly a new publication, but not beyond the wit of man to address. Guess what, I didn't get the paper, they apologised. But, all it would have needed would have been to give us a call in our room to say not "i" papers or we don't know what you mean, but alas there is much uniformity...............

Many thanks for the review, I am sorry that you did not receive your preferred paper, unfortunately it's unavailability only came to light when we received our morning delivery and at this stage it was to late for an alternative to be offer but I am glad the an apology was offered as well as complimentary paper from our lounge.

After staying here on a coach trip i was pleasantly surprised to be given a lovely room overlooking the pier, promenade and marine lake. The room had numerous facilities which all came very handy. The bed was so comfortable, I've never slept on a bed so comfortable in all my life! Overall, the room was outstanding and one of the best hotel rooms I've had.
The restaurant service was slightly bad and slow and it appeared that certain waiters struggled when the rather small restaurant was full and we were sometimes forgotten about. The set menu was boring. Very boring. There was salmon and broccoli almost every night and the soups were very bland. There is an A la Carte menu, but it is quite pricey. The drinks are also very expensive. The 2 lifts do vary. By this I mean you can wait for ages for the lift or not at all.
Overall, a great hotel and in a perfect location to the main attractions of Southport, but slightly let down by the restaurant.
PLEASE NOTE
There is a leisure centre opposite, which is free of charge to all residents
The safe and fridge in the rooms are free to use

Booked this top floor suite as an extra birthday gift for my husband, so when we opened the door the view just took your breath away, fabulous room, beauifully fitted out with everything you could wish for and two televisions, decent toiletries and robes and slippers completed the picture wow!. We ate in the hotel, breakfasts are self service which disappointed us a bit as we really prefer table service, but the selection was good, dinners at night again were good. We did enjoy our stay, the room certainly made our stay special..
