“The best hotel/hosts in Southport!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

Just had a wonderful weekend at the Ambassador Hotel! Tracy and Steve make you so welcome from the minute you walk in until the minute you leave. The hotel is perfect. The bedrooms are outstanding, the breakfast was everything you could wish for (and more). You get to choose exactly what you want and it is cooked to perfection. We took advantage of the option to pre book our evening meal at the Auberge and we had a fantastic meal. We also booked to go the Tapas at the waterfront which again, was delightful. We could not say one bad thing about our Southport trip! So again, thank you Tracy and Steve for helping to make this weekend such a happy one! We will definately be back (bet you'll look forward to that!!!). Sue & Mark, Jan & Brent

Room Tip: All of them are gorgeous!

We were welcomed into the home of Tracy and Steve with happy smiling faces. Tracy showed us to our room that was large extremely well presented and just as comfortable as it looked. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated throughout.
We were able to book one of two breakfast sittings (later for us) and able to choose from many breakfast items. We were greeted in the morning into the breakfast room where there was fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fresh juices and iced water. The full breakfast that followed prepared by Steve was great, well cooked, well presented and big enough to fill the biggest appetite.
The room was very big and very comfortable, the bed was huge and we had a fantastic nights sleep. There was coffee, tea and other items of refreshment in the room to add to the luxury of the stay.
Steve and Tracy have a very good knowledge of the Southport and surrounding areas and are able to offer advice on places to visit and places to eat.
Tracy and Steve cant do enough for their guests...its no wonder they have won awards for their lovely guest house and hospitality.
Thanks to both of them for a great weekend and no doubt we will see them again soon

Thank you for an excellent stay.
Excellent food, excellent cleanliness, excellent decor, comfortable bed.
Room Louise a tiny bit small but you told us that when we booked. - and how refreshing to have a shower in a shower cubicle thats big enough to move in and no black grouting.
I really appreciated the amount of care taken to provide safety pins, toothpicks, sewing kit, cotton buds ect. - all the bits you forget to pack.
Perhaps your second career should start where the hotel inspector finishes and advise the others how to do it!
We will be back.

Room Tip: Louise a bit small and up two fights of stairs but Tracy advised us of that prior to booking.

We stayed for 2 nights as an extended family, and occupied three of the bedrooms. All three were exceptionally clean, superbly furnished and the beds extremely comfortable. There was complimentary tea and coffee throughout our stay, and bottled water on arrival, plus an "emergency box" for all those little things you sometimes forget to pack. Tracy and Steve were very welcoming without being obtrusive, therefore giving us the space to relax but being in the background should we need anything. The breakfasts were superb, all freshly cooked and an extensive choice. We have been visiting Southport for over 20 years and have stayed in numerous hotels in the town. This was by far the best value for money, and the cleanest/most nicely decorated we have ever stayed in. We certainly won't look at any other hotels/B & B's, we would return to The Ambassador Townhouse, the proximity to the town centre and sea front is perfect. Well don Tracy & Steve, and thanks for a lovely weekend, we will definitely be coming back.

Recently back from a enjoyable long weekend. A very warm welcome by Tracey and Steve who on arrival pointed out local places to visit and restaurants to eat at.

Our room (Helena) was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed. As mentioned in other reviews the breakfast was first class with a varied menu and served piping hot in a comfortable dining room.

The hotel is ideally situated for shops and promenade and within easy walking distance from the railway station.

A big thank you to Tracey and Steve for a lovely weekend, we hope to see you again.

Paul & Sue - Wolverhampton

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel are quieter.

We stayed in this B&B for a friends wedding and just found it by chance on trip advisor. The B&B was easy to find, beautifully decorated and the room (Leopold I think) was much bigger than I anticipated with beautiful decor and furnishings and lots of lovely added extras. The real treat though is how friendly and welcoming Tracey and Steve are! They really make you feel so welcome and when I had incident with losing my bag they were so helpful (even though we we were putting them out!). The breakfast was lovely, I thought it was so nice to have fresh berries in the morning with yogurt.

Could not recommend this B&b enough and I am only sad that I do not live closer to Southport to enable me to go again!

We stayed at the Ambassador Townhouse in Southport for 2 nights over the Diamond Jubilee weekend. We are a family of three, our baby just 9 months old. The purpose of our visit was to see friends who live in Southport. The location of this B & B could not be any better, it’s right in the heart of the town and in walking distance to shops, arcades, train station, prom – everything!
Tracy and Steve couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. On arrival they helped with parking, with getting all our bags and baby equipment up to our room and explaining the B & B facilities.
We stayed in the Helena room which has a double bed and a single bed plus en-suite shower room. The room was exceptionally clean and the décor was fab. The room has a sink, tea making facilities, hairdryer, tv and just about everything you might need for your stay - if you've forgotten something it may well be in the survival kit! (A great little touch). There was room for the travel cot too!
We were given the option of an early or late breakfast and there was a huge selection of food and beverages to choose from. The cooked breakfast was hot, plentiful and very nice too. The breakfast room was again very clean and well decorated.
In addition to all this Tracy and Steve were very accommodating with our baby needs, e.g. highchair, using the microwave to sterilise bottles. We felt very relaxed and it's great that our baby was in such a pleasant environment. We would definitely recommend the Ambassador Townhouse and will stay there again when visiting our friends next time.
