Thank you Angela for yet another fantastic stay at Rose Cottage. Excellent accommodation, food and hospitality. We've no need to look anywhere else when we've found the best! See you again soon, love Ena & Ken xxx

We don't normally stay at B&B's so this was a lovely surprise. The owners Angie and Andrew are wonderfully friendly but not intrusively so, his work is so interesting that we could have talked with him for ages :) We had a relaxing time staying at their delightful B&B, Henry and Hugo [spaniel and puppy!!] were real charmers too. Breakfast was great, Angie even cooked us 'childish beans'!!

Location-wise, it was a very short distance from Tenby [Angie and Andrew showed us where the 'short-cut' was]...walkable there...taxi back...very steep climb!! The secure parking was a real advantage...Andrew made sure that no one parked too close to my new car!!!!!

It was nice to be that short distance out of Tenby but close to other local places of interest - Freshwater West was a fantastic find and truly one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to in a long time [the only thing that would have improved it...SUNSHINE!!!]

We will be back, thank you both for a lovely time :)

Nice welcome from owner when we arrived, but room smelt musty and could do with more attention to detail with cleaning. Orchid plant on bedside table was thick with dust and cobwebs.
Advertised fridge was not in room and tea tray contained one individual pack of biscuits between two people.
Towels in bathroom were not soft and only basic brand of bath foam and hand wash available.
Breakfast was good and location is quiet.

Just returned from a short trip to Tenby, and our stay at Rose Cottage really impressed. The hosts Andrew and Angela are a lovely couple, were very welcoming and extremely generous. We can't thank them enough for their hospitality throughout, they made it feel like a home away from home. The cooked breakfasts were hearty and tasty and were always served up with a smile. The rooms were clean, felt very quiet, private and secure. Situated just outside of Tenby, the guest house is a short stroll into town and a cheap cab fare home - the most we paid was around £5 - so no complaints about location. Seems that there is so much of beautiful Pembrokeshire left unexplored, that we'll be heading back there in future. And when we do return, we know where we'll be staying, would highly recommend Rose Cottage to anyone.

We have just returned from a two night stay which can only be described as disappointing (the fact it rained for the two days also did not help).
We booked Rose Cottage and on reading previous reviews and felt quite positive about staying there. On arrival we were disappointed that no one was about despite arriving at our agreed time. After waiting outside for twenty minutes Angela returned our call and we were allocated our room which we were disappointed to see as this was a twin room, yet our booking via late rooms confirmed we had booked a double room. We advised Angela of this to which she replied ‘ I prefer sleeping in my own bed’ not the response we expected, we asked to change rooms but were told this was not possible and just to push the beds together. More annoying was the fact we had chosen not to book other accommodation on the fact they only had twin rooms available yet had booked Rose Cottage on the basis we were getting a double room .
Despite this the room appeared modern, however on inspection the cleanliness of the room was not up to standard as the room was quite dusty especially the skirting boards, radiators and lamps also off putting was the collection of dead flies visible in the ceiling light and there were several cobwebs around the room (At the end of our stay I had removed 9 large spiders from the room). The room also had a damp feel to it which was evident from the mould growing on the wall next to the window.
The next annoyance with the room was on the B&B’s web site it says the room have ‘high quality toiletries ‘ however this amounted to hand wash and half a used bottle of shower gel, we spoke to Andrew about the lack of shampoo and conditioner which firstly he said ‘ there should be some in the bathroom’ which we replied there wasn’t and then he told us there was a shop just up the road where we could buy some. I have no issues in providing my own toiletries however when the room is advertised as having toiletries I object to being told to go and buy some, on pointing this out to Andrew he said he would go and find us some shampoo to use.
On the next day after a poor night sleep and attempting to push the beds together which just slid apart we decided we would check out unless alternative accommodation was provided, Andrew then said he could put a double bed in the room, which although was appreciated we were a bit annoyed this was not offered on arrival.
The breakfasts were ok, I wouldn’t say they were the best like some previous reviews neither were they the worst, my only criticism would be like others have mentioned in that an assumption was made we wanted the same both days, and if I am going to be picky the quality of the bacon and sausage seemed to be on the cheap side. Considering the amount we had paid for our stay I would have expected good quality bacon, sausage and even bread, which I would have thought could be sourced easily from local farms.
Overall I don’t feel the B&B is a four star, the fact the accommodation is in a annex on the side of the property loses some of the charm usually found in B&B accommodations and it felt more like a budget hotel. It is also anoying i needed to spend time complaing and asking for things which should have been allready in place, when all we wanted was a relaxing short break . Out of the hosts Andrew was the more accommodating and did attempt to resolve our grievances and also gave some good recommendations on places to eat. I also felt the cost of the accommodation at £85 a night was on the high side given the standard of accommodation on offer and we have stayed at much better and cheaper accommodation. I would like to visit Tenby again hopefully when the sun is out but I wouldn’t stay at Rose cottage or recommend others do.

OMG what a week! It has been raining cats and dogs here and the people are a little aggitated.

Again sorry for being a bore but I must defend myself.

These people booked using a booking agency - I picked up the booking via email and as far as I was aware they had booked a twin room ensuite. I could not offer her a double because I did not have one.

The next day my husband then brought a double bed from our private house and changed everything over for them but she still appeared unhappy.

When I said I liked sleeping in the bed on my own it was meant as a joke and in no way did I wish to offend them.

From what they told us they have been having some serious security problems the day before they came away and maybe that with the weather caused them to write such a tirade of bitter comments.

Apologies for the spiders but we live in a rural area where there are lots of trees and shrubs - but comments noted and will make a total effort to make sure it does not happen again.

The comment about the ingredients at breakfast - might I assure everybody that these are all of the highest quality from local suppliers as follows:-

Bacon and Sausages - A.J. Rees of NARBERTH
Free Range Eggs - CRESELLY FARM
Cereals, Yogurts, Grapefruit and Prunes and Juice are all from the highest quality branded makers such as Kelloggs and Nestle etc
Bread wharburtons seeded
Kingsmill thick white.

I am so sorry that these people did not have a nice time - it probably would have been impossible given the weather - but all comments have been noted.

The owners were incredibly friendly and the room was really nice and spotless. The bedroom was perhaps a little small although the bathroom was very spacious. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. It is a 20 minute walk into the centre of Tenby but be warned that it is a very steep climb on the way back up. However, if you are slightly lazy like me it was only about £4 for a taxi back up. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I found this place on the internet as we came from Canada. We had a wonderful time here. The food was delicious and Angela was great in accommodating our wishes and desires for breakfast. The room was spotless and very roomy. Both Andrew and Angela were very helpful on tips for sightseeing and how to manoeuvre around Tenby. We would most certainly come back to stay.
