“An Adventure in a Grand Old Home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Desperate, at 5pm, for somewhere to stay for three nights we rang Leigh, on the advice of the local information centre. What a fantastic time we had. Two nights in a room with en-suite on the first floor then up another floor to a room with a hand basin and toilet and a shared bathroom back on the floor where we had started - shared with Leigh and his wife. Sounds a bit chaotic and perhaps on one level it was but Leigh and Merrily made it more of an adventure - I think Leigh could have also sold me a second hand car. Leigh's breakfasts were special with freshly prepared grapefruit, pineapple and strawberries, a vast array of spreads for toast and great cooked feasts. The meal he cooked one evening, for any guests interested, was delicious and great value for money. Overall great value and great fun in a very relaxed atmosphere with excellent advice on things to see and do in the local area.

Room Tip: Some rooms had no true en-suite facilities. May be an issue for some but Leigh made it an non-issue

Warm and friendly welcome from owner Lee who is also a superb chef, who cooked us an excellent evening meal, and delicious breakfast to order. Our room and in fact the whole house was homely and tastefully dressed with a traditional country feel, set in a quiet location with beautiful sea and country views from the balcony leading from the bedroom. Very comfy bed. Would definitely recommend as an ideal B&B for exploring Tenby and the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Four poster room has excellent sea views towards Caldey Island with its own little stone balcony com...

We booked ourselves and my wife's parents in for a two night stay and used it as a base to explore Tenby and the surrounding areas. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and airy with great views. The breakfast is excellent. The local pub (turn left out of the gate) near the church is also worth a visit both for the food and the welcome.

This is a real gem of a bed & breakfast, made all the more so by the tireless effort of Lee to ensure you have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast time has never been so funny, so much idle banter. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the views towards the sea are stunning. Well done Lee & Mherly, you are on to a winner there, we will be back.

Room Tip: Sea views to be recommended

I booked a two night last minute stay for myself and my son and chose this B&B on the strength of past reviews. We were looking for a quiet tranquil place to stay and I must say Wychwood House ticked all the boxes for us. Lee the host met us on our arrival and made us feel at home instantly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The breakfast was lovely - my son is gluten intollerant and Lee went out of his way to accommodate this. Our room was immaculately clean and very quaint, in fact the whole house had a very homely tranquil feel to it. We would definitely go back again. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one.

Enjoyed our two night break here immensely . We had a wonderful welcome from Lee on our arrival and nothing was too much trouble for him or Mherly during our stay. The house is spotlessly clean and we had a beautiful view from our bedroom across to Caldey Island . Breakfast was delicious . Will definitely return and can thoroughly recommend.

I booked a 2night stay for me an my partner for some time away we didnt want to stay in the hustle and hustle of tenby so chose to delve outer tenby. The booking was completed and very quickly had an email off the host Lee to confirm ad to give me information! We arrived to the house and just thought it was beautiful from the first moment! Greeted so kindly and welcoming from Lee we knew it was going to be a great break.
We were showed to our beautiful room with 4 poster bed and balcony and sea view (which of course you pay extra for when booking) but my oh my it's worth every penny! We were able to come and go as we pleased and always had a cheery hello and goodbye from Lee and always stopped to have a chat with us! The breakfast is to DIE FOR! Amazing food!!! Although we didnt I would recommend that you book to have dinner with them (when available) each time we walked in and out the house it smelt of great home cooked food! The room was always tidy and the condiments and facilities were always clean and replenished! Excellent amount of room for your belongings too! Just 2minutes up the road is a shop and also a walkway which leads you to a 20min walk to the tenby beach! If the weather was better we would have walked! All in all an excellent place to stay! Home cooked food excellent friendly host and a beautiful house with amazing surroundings! Defenatly staying here again! Thank you!
