I booked this b&b as a last minute option for the Ironman contest.....and I'm so glad now that all the other b&bs were full!! The b&b is in Penally which is 5 minutes drive from Tenby town centre, and the building itself is gorgeous - very picturesque with red ivy climbing up the wall. The lobby and all the rooms are large and very tastefully decorated and I couldn't believe my luck when I was shown my room, which I have to say Lee went out of his way to book for me. Lee was most helpful from the time I first phoned up to when I checked out and when I arrived I was brought some milk and Welsh cakes to my room - it was the little touches like that that make this place so wonderful.

The room was superb - views of the sea, loads of cupboard/wardrobe space, huge 4 poster bed and a luxury sized bathroom. Extra little touches such as the lovely shower gel, hand cream, choice of refreshments etc all made this the perfect stay for me (on a personal note the hairdryer and shower were also exactly what I would want in my house so that ticked even more boxes!)

Due to the Ironman starting at 7am, a few of us had to be up very early. This wasn't a problem for Lee, he set up a small selection of breakfast items for us, told us to help ourselves to anything in the fridge in the kitchen and even left a lovely good luck note. It was lovely to come back in the evenings and find him and Mherly in the living room watching the TV, on the internet or just listening to music (all the latest technology which I was very impressed with!) at which point he would always ask how your day had been.

I was late back one morning (technically only 5 minutes left for breakfast) but even this wasn't a problem, he ushered me into the breakfast room and I was offered a full breakfast which he and his wife cooked there and then for me without any complaint.

In short, if you are anywhere within 10 miles of Tenby, you should stay here and nowhere else!!! Thank you Lee and Mherly for such a lovely weekend - I wish I didn't have to leave!!

We booked a three night break for relaxation and that is exactly what we got. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was very comfortable and Lee's cooking outstanding.

We parked the car when we arrived, and were made at home immediately - we never moved the car until it was time to come home. Starting the day with a superb breakfast, we were within easy walking of Tenby and beautiful beaches - and at the end of every day, we returned to a great welcome and amazing evening meal. All round brilliant time. We will be returning to enjoy the hospitality at Wychwood House.

Thank you very much

Room Tip: We had a great en suite room with balcony and sea views, brilliant

We stayed at Wychwood House as part of a walking holiday along the South Wales Pembrokeshire Coast. This proved to be our favourite B&B of the six we stayed in.

As two friends we had a large room with en suite facilities with our own separate TV viewing lounge all on the top floor of the house. The room was well equipped with hair dryers and a good selection of hot drinks and Welsh cakes on arrival. This area of the house would be ideally suited for a family with two children as it was so self contained.

The welcome consisted of a smiley and friendly host, Lee who looked after all our needs. Breakfast was well cooked and served with Lee's cheerfulness.

Situated in the picturesque village of Penally was the Cross In which served very good quality food.

You can also catch the train from Penally to Pembroke which takes approx 15 mins. Tenby is also a 20 minute walk away with many good pubs, restaurants and spectacular beaches.

We highly recommend Lee's guest house and the high standard of cleanliness and comfort was very welcome after a days walking.

Thanks Lee!

Daisy and Martine.

Room Tip: All rooms would be quiet and have good views. The top floor is best suited to a family.

A lovely old house with excellent views from our room across to Tenby and Caldey Island.
Lee is a very friendly and knowledgeable host and cooks a great fry up. Highly recommended.

We stayed having booked last minute in aa family room. we paid £80 per night (normally £96 - eldest child stayed free).

We had the family room on the top floor. This was a large room with a double and single bed. Private en-suite. The only quirk was a communial landing aread which had two 2 seater sofa's to sit and watch TV at.

I would say that the stairs up to this floor were steep and narrow. The accomodation itself was more than adequate and the property is lovely.

Traditional options t breakfast which is cooked by Lee the owner. Lee was friendly from our inital telephone conversation through to leaving on day of check out.

The property is in a small village which has a pub/restaurant at one end a further restaurant at the other, both cater for kids.

We had a great stay in Tenby and loved our accomodation.

We had a lovely week at Wychwood House. Lee and Mherly were very welcoming and great hosts. The room was gorgeous, very clean and spacious and nicely decorated, with everything we needed. There were great views over Caldey Island and Tenby from the balcony. Penally is a very attractive village and an ideal location to walk to the beach or into Tenby town (which we love!) Penally has two nice pubs, both of which we enjoyed eating at. We also ate at Wychwood and can honestly say it was a superb meal. Lees cooking is very good and there was lots of choice at breakfast time. We had a very happy and memorable holiday and would certainly recommend Wychwood to others. We hope to return ourselves!! We have been visiting "Wychwood House" for a number of years now, and wouldn't stay anywhere else in South Pembrokeshire. The rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, the breakfasts are excellent (even if you're a vegetarian), and the welcome is stupendous. Lee is a natural host (as well as an extremely enthusiastic salsa dancer). The building is situated in a very attractive garden, which itself is in the beautiful village of Penally which, on its south-facing slope over-looking Tenby, has a distinctly continental feel. It is a short distance from the cliff-top walks to Tenby and Lydstep. Although we've never eaten at Wychwood House in the evening, apparently evening meals can be provided, which other guests have described as marvellous!
