This hotel is in a great location on the sea front. It is in the process of being renovated so there are rooms which have been refurbished and those which haven't. The front of the hotel could do with a lick of paint. Although clean I thought £86 for a very ordinary (not refurbished) small room was too much. The staff, however, were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was OK. The car park at the back has limited space so arrive early!

Went to the Giltar today for Sunday lunch with my partner and parents. It was my birthday and when I arrived there was a complementary helium balloon and card from the hotel staff which was a lovely touch. The staff were friendly and gave an excellent service. The food was delicious and was served quickly. Would highly recommend this hotel. Looking forward to having my wedding reception here next April.

a Very old, period style hotel which I think adds character to the break.

Afternoon tea/Coffee was pleasurable in the old lounge and staff were friendly enough. Nice flowers around the hotel especially outside. Room floor was a bit creaky and stairs a little steep but still comfortable. Excellent view across the road of the ocean. Couldn't choose a better location. Location on top of cliff with wide views across the bay.

The booking was made for 1 night in September 2013 at a cost of £90.
The stair carpet was thread bare and had holes in it. The room was jaded and had a faint aroma of dog. The sheets had been used a thousand times and though clean needed to be renewed. The towels were limp and a faded grey. The room had been split into 2 by a false wall which allowed every sound to be heard. The sea view was from one side window which was set at an angle. The bath room was old and sad.The front of the hotel needs a coat of paint.
We were so appalled by the state of the room we did not stay for the night. We were not offered any refund.
If you are planning a lovely stay at Tenby this is not the place to be.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Giltar Hotel for 4 nights in august, We were given a room which had renovations started it was lovely but the bathroom hadn't yet been upgraded, we had a problem where as water went from scalding hot to freezing which wasn't great, we complained to reception and someone was sent straight up to check it out, unfortunately nothing could be done about it but the hotel gave us a discount on our room as they was fully booked and couldn't move us. All the staff were lovely and always happy to help, the breakfast was lovely and all in all we had a lovely seaside break. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break in wales or a break where you want a base and go and see some beautiful places.
