Paid £85 for a night B&B. Lovely location. Room smelly , small, clean linen. Basin in room. Poor sleep due to noise of people shouting periodically through night and thin walls so could hear loud snoring of occupants of next room. Scruffy dated furnishings and tiny telly. Free bar grim - wine not drinkable. Terrible singer. Very doggy smell. Breakfast poor 1 value sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 hard fried egg, few beans, few mushrooms and fried bread which tasted as if it had been fried in old oil. Cereals okay. People who think this place is great must have very different standards to mine. We stay in lots of hotels and this is the worst value ever. Never again!

My wife and I decided at very short notice, that we wanted to revisit the charming resort of Tenby, for a week or so. Although it was the height of The Season in late July, the receptionists at The Clarence Hotel were most helpful and offered us a three day break with the promise to extend, should a vacancy arise. Within a couple of hours of arrival, we were in a nice room with a Sea View and this was extended to a week with the minimum of trouble. All staff from room service to Management were really helpful and charming. Although we initially booked just B & B, we soon went to Half Board on account of the pleasant and tasty menu on offer, quickly and efficiently delivered.( What an improvement on dragging round the various good restaurants in Tenby at the height of the Season and trying to find a table, good service and all at a reasonable price!)

Room Tip: Just tell the receptionist what you want.

We booked thru booking.com for the last Saturday in June.
We had a lovely room with a fantastic view of the sea via French windows & balcony.
Best nights sleep with the windows wide open.
The sink is in the bedroom. The toilet & shower are on a small room just next to the bed, behind a consitena type door. Some people may not like this, but we've been married for 14 years so no surprises there.
The bar area is great especially as you can sit outside too. Not bad prices. The hour long free bar is a great touch too.
The breakfast was perfect after a few drinkies the night before. Plenty of choice & very quick.
Will definitely be staying again..just hoping for sunny weather.

We've just returned from a great weekend at the Clarence. Lovely hospitality, good food and a free bar for an hour each night for residents - what more could you ask for?
Location is fantastic and when the sun came out, eventually, a great place to soak up the amazing views from the garden in front of the hotel. About a third of Caerphilly Male Voice Choir turned up for a weekend away and it was not stop spontaneous bursts of singing all weekend. A great time was had by all and I'm sure we will be returning - next time with a full choir and possibly the wives!!

The location of the hotel was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic for the price paid, no hair drier, mini shower gel, shampoo etc, I forgot mine, ALL other hotels I have stayed at have these facilities, "as minor as they are" they're a nice touch. Cleanliness-shower head had black mould on it, couldn't swing a mouse in the shower/toilet cupboard! That's the only way to describe it. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it, staff very friendly.

My wife and I travelled with local coach firm this time 14-18 may 2012.Welcomed on coach upon arrival and smooth transfer to our rooms. The hotel web site gives full information about hotel including grades of rooms available but we were not aware of what had been booked for us which was on second floor looking onto side street.Whlst it was on the small side with a small separate shower and wash basin it was very clean and comfortable and adequate for our short stay.
Meals are such a personal `thing`that I have no comment one way or another.
We had a free bar each evening 8pm to 9pm with excellent choice excluding spirits!! After 9pm the hotel provided professional entertainment, after short `bingo`.
Wine drinkers must look at the very fair bottle wine list. Around £10.50 is not to be `sneezed` at.
The hotel has a happy feel about it.The staff are smiley and helpfull.Make sure you meet Hubert.
