“The much promised warm welcome was not evident.”
Reviewed December 28, 2010

Admittedly it was Bank Holiday (27th Dec), but we arrived in good time (7.50pm) when the only available information stated food was served until 8.30pm. Not only was there was no "warm welcome", there was no welcome at all!! We were looking at the menus available on the bar, only to have them snatched away with a mumbled we're not serving anymore as we've run out of food. With such an extensive menu this would be hard to believe. To add insult to injury, whilst we were having a drink, food was served to some customers.
We would understand the kitchen closing, a simple polite apology would have sufficed. The barmaid was clearly upset about something as a smile never crossed her face when serving anyone that we saw.
Clearly this cannot be a full review of the Cross but we will not be visiting again any time soon as there is plenty of choice in the area.

“Great Sunday lunch”
Reviewed December 15, 2010

We called in on spec and had a really good quality Sunday lunch. Plenty of everything, piping hot and extra veg if you wanted it. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. We'll be back.

“Cross Inn Penally, Tenby Pembs”
Reviewed October 20, 2010

Wonderful home cooked food, excellent pies and steaks, Welsh Black beef and much more. The Cross is all you would expect of a country pub in a beautiful and proud village with its Norman church and village shop. The bar can sometimes be a little crowded but that is due to its popularity with locals and regulars. The view over Caldey on a summer's evening is superb and not to be missed, a true gem!
