My wife and I stayed only the one night at the Farnham and found the rooms and cleanliness superb. The shower and toilets were a bit small but quirky. Simon the owner was very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was very nice and we would not hesitate in recommending the Farnham Hotel for a short break.

I am grateful to be able to respond to this review. I can rememer the group quite clearly as they are the only people I have asked to leave the hotel in many years. They had obviously had too much to drink on their way down and were very noisy on arrival. I could see where the weekend was going as this was only 2pm. I am not a hotel that accepts stag and hen parties and this seemed to be the sort of place they should have booked. I asked them to leave and gave them a full refund to their credit card of £495.00 which they accepted and went on their way. These people would have totally ruined the weekend for the guests I had staying . It is very wrong of them to write an untrue version of events

We were welcomed by Simon the hotel owner on arrival which was nice, always a good sign.In all fairness he could not have been more helpful and always a smile aswell. We were shown to our room which it seemed was about seven flights of stairs up.By the time we got there we were greeted with an ok room(certainly can't moan for the price and the view) it was dated though and could have been updated but not a major gripe. It was certainly fine for the family and all you could want in it.I had read reviews about the bathroom and it did seem the shower was in a small airing cupboard(very scandanavian with all the wood) but it was ok and what more do you need a toilet and shower to do.The only major gripe was that it was not a DOUBLE BED it was more like a 3/4 bed and if your not thin the it may be a problem. In the mornings the breakfast was fine nothing special but made with gusto by Simon with a smile. The hotel was perfectly situated for the south beach and only 5 mins from town. All in all a good stay with value for money for what it was.

I visited the Farnham Hotel in March 08 as I took my boyfriend there for his birthday weekend as a surprise break! I had booked my stay based primarily on the price and how close it was to town. I was not disappointed!
ROOMS - We stayed in the room featured on their website which had a double and single bed in the room which made the room quite spacious. The toilet and shower were in what seemed a cupboard which we found quite amusing but did not bother us. Room was clean & tidy and has super views of the beach (considering the price was cheap you would not expect any view!)
BREAKFAST & STAFF - The full English breakfast was great, really set you up for the day! We were topped up with tea/coffee/juice as soon as we had finished and could not ask for more. The gentleman who owns the hotel was very welcoming and friendly.
LOCATION - The hotel was about 5/10 min walk into Tenby town where there are plenty of shops, pubs & restaurants. The beach was about the same, 5/10 min, walk away. Oakwood Park is about a 20min drive away and is well worth the travel!!
All in all, we had a wonderful stay at the Farnham and would definitely go back there again.

Regular visitors to Tenby, we booked a long weekend in June 2007 opting to stay at The Farnham Hotel. Our decision was based on both its location and its cost, as we were scheduled to fly out to Spain shortly afterwards for our fortnights break. On arrival there was no-one to greet us; but we could 'sign in' and having done so headed up to our room. The key had been left out for us as we'd given an ETA to the owner over the phone. We booked a sea view double ( the one pictured on the website) and found both a double and single bed. Obviously, more a family room than straight forward double, but ended up benefitting us!
Our main 'problem' with the room was what we thought were built in wardrobes....on opening the 2 doors we actually found the shower and toilet. There wasn't a problem with the cleanliness of either; however, the space in both was extremely limited and rather claustraphobic. My husband couldn't shut the toilet door as his knees were right up against it!! Not ideal, especially as the 'facilities' were not really separated from the bedroom, if you see what I mean?
The other issue we had was the bed; it was very uncomfortable and resulted in my moving into the single bed to try and facilitate a good nights sleep for the pair of us. The room, otherwise, had the standard fixtures and fittings. Obviously, we only saw one room but I would say that the 'luxury' tag, as stated on the website, doesn't really cut it.
The breakfast was fine, but I dont recall being offered too much, if any, choice over the make up of the cooked breakfast. We have had better elsewhere in Tenby. The dining room, as with the remainder of the hotel, was clean, light and airy. The owner was polite, approachable and a nice chap.
I wouldn't say that we would rush to stay there again, as the thought of the shower/toilet crush or the uncomfortable beds has definately put us off. However, if you can overlook these things, view The Farnham more as a basic B&B as opposed to a hotel and go with the good location, you'll be fine.
