A sensational experience with an attentive host, warm atmosphere and outstanding freshly cooked English food. Take note of all the positive reviews but they really do not do Combe Cottage justice.

The restaurant itself is small but cosy, with a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. For the main course, my wife had the fish pie and I had shoulder of lamb. Both meals were tasty, wholesome and well cooked, and care had been taken over the presentation. The highlight for me, though, was the dessert. I chose the home-made chocolate mousse, which was very rich but wonderful. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole dining experience very enjoyable.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and you high praise of our homemade chocolate mousse - we couldn't describe it better ourselves "rich but wonderful." Come back for a second helping if you are ever in the area.

We managed to get a late booking for a Thursday evening. The venue is charming and intimate with great decor. The owners were accommodating and charming. The service was discreet and personal. We had the prawns and chorizo salad to start with the steak stack (cooked medium rare and bang on the money) with the seafood stew. My daughter had a bowl of pasta with a lovely tomato sauce. There was Fragato and fruit jelly for desserts.

The food was cooked perfectly and the portions just right size wise. The menu has a nice variety and the specials sounded really appetising.

Upon leaving, my daughter rewarded the restaurant 3 Michlin stars which seemed to be received by our hosts in good humour. I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Our Three Michelin stars hold pride of place in the kitchen - thanks so much to your beautiful daughter for awarding them! We will look forward to seeing you all again if you are ever in the area (although not sure how we can improve on three Michelin stars!).

We booked a table for Bank Holiday Monday evening and were accommodated easily. The menu was wide ranging and it was very difficult to choose! The children's meals were generous and homemade. The whole meal was delicious, and desserts had to be tried!

Will definitely be going back next time we're in the area!

Decided to go here based on the other reviews and we were not disappointed. We had to book and arrived just before opening but were welcomed in. Shared the prawn and chorizo starter whilst the kids tucked into the cottage pie. There was a good choice of main courses and both the beef bourgignon and fillet steak stack were excellent. We didn't really have room for pud but can't say no to treacle tart or apple pie! Service was timely and friendly. A really pleasant way to spend an evening!

Many thanks for your review. So glad the whole family enjoyed their meal (we know how thrilled parents are to find a children's menu when they go out for dinner and we consider £5.50 a very fair price for cottage pie, pasta etc). Love to see you again if you are ever in the area.
