“5 day stay in August 2013”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We stayed in this hotel over five nights and was extremely pleased. The rooms are decorated to a very high standard and the attention to detail to everything from towels to shampoos etc was lovely to find. The view from room 5 is beautiful offering a panoramic view of the sea frontage. The Breakfast is professionally displayed and there is more than ample to fill the traveler. The staff within the hotel as you would expect from a family business is second to none. We were made to feel more like family than guests. Would i go back again? Most definitely. The hotel is ideally placed on Fore Street for restaurants and the seafront. Its a very short walk to the tunnel beaches which should not be missed.

Room Tip: Room five has a lovely sea view

Hi all
Stayed here for three night and had a great time this hotel is a hidden gem.
It is very central just inbetween the high street and the harbour lots of bars and restruants very close by
The Rooms are spotless and have everything you need kettle,tv all are ensuite.
The breakfast was great jackie took your order every morning for the next day.
Planning on returning soon and will defo stay here again.
Met some nice people and got a warm welcome from wee boaby and rumptytum for rusty in the liberal club.
Went to a bar on Saturday night and seen the worst punk cover band ever started a few songs and had o give up forgetting the words.
We will be back!!
Only down side is the seagulls give you an early wake up call every morning

My Partner and I wanted to get away for a few days and found the Harcourt Hotel in Ilfracombe. From the pics we saw on Tripadvisor, and the info on the surrounding area, it was just what we were looking for. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Jackie, who actually opened the door before we could, and greeted us with a very welcome and friendly face. Straight away we felt comfortable being there. The intro was very informative, and we were shown to our room, room number 5. This was very clean, had all the things we needed and the view of the sea and Capstone was great. Breakfast was very good, a full-English was had by both of us although Jackie did run through the choices available to us. This was preceeded by cereal, and the whole breakfast palate was cleansed by a bowl of Jackies very fresh fruit salad. A great breakfast to start the day. This standard and a very high one at that, was replicated the 2nd morning of our 2 night stay. We will defo be booking the Harcourt Hotel, for any future visits to ilfracombe as a result of our experience. Ladies and Gents: if you want to stay in Ilfracombe and are looking for accomodation and service of the highest quality and at a very reasonable price per night, disregard the rest and head straight to the Harcourt Hotel. Period.

My partner and I came down to stop for an extended weekend. The room had a good layout and offered a sunny view which was an added bonus. The hotel itself offered a good range of facilities, with parking just outside. All of the food that had was lovely and almost spoilt us for choice. Having clean bedding and towels was a luxury we looked forward to each day, as was the quiet atmosphere each evening, allowing us to relax and recharge ready for a fun packed next-day. We shall be making another booking this year…My partner and I came down to stop for an extended weekend. The room had a good layout and offered a sunny view which was an added bonus. After looking for a nice place to stay in Ilfracombe that didn't cost the earth we stumbled across Harcourt Hotel. It might not be the grandest of hotels but the staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is clean and tidy and you feel at home especially with the free Wifi. I would like to thank the staff for an enjoyable stay.
