Was a perfect place to stay for the family wedding. The house was immaculate, warm and comfy. It was very well equipped as well and we wanted for nothing during the stay. There were several very nice touches such as some bread and milk provided. I would certainly stay there again
We stayed here at the end of September - a group of extended family (grandparents and grand kids).
The house was spotlessly clean, was very comfortable and spacious enough for all of us to enjoy.
The kitchen/diner was well equipped and was great for socialising together and we made the most of the board games, CDs and DVDs available.
We arrived to a welcome pack and flowers, which was a nice surprise.
We hope to return to come back and stay again soon :)
We stayed in Primrose house for a week in August as our daughter was getting married and we needed somewhere big enough to accommodate 3 couples and 2 children which the house did well. It is at the top of a hill but is a nice stroll down to the Tunnels Beach end of town. The walk back up well is uphill, we didn't mind it at all but the children weren't too keen lol! We had a lovely week in Ilfracombe but the house itself was sadly very grubby. I can only think it had been cleaned when the last guests left some weeks before and not refreshed for us. I bought this up with the owner and was just assured her cleaner does a very through job, Sadly not in our case. I could write the date in the dust and the cooker hood was so greasy I could write the date in that too. Also the floors were sticky and I felt everything needed to be cleaned before we used it. The beds were also the most uncomfortable we have slept in to date (and we've slept in 33 this year all personal preference I know) but we all ended up very achy by the end of the week. It was however extremely quiet which was a big plus for us and parking was never a problem. There were a couple of other tiny issues, both showers block easily and overflow the bathroom. Think they get air locks in them. And there was a smell of I think dog downstairs which wasn't pleasant and a slight sewage smell upstairs from next doors air vent pipe which is too low. Overall because we were there for a very exciting event and had all our friends and family dotted all over Ilfracombe it didn't spoil our week but it might have if we had just been there on holiday.
We had a great stay at Primrose House in August. The accommodation was everything we'd hope for and more and it's in a great location for town and also for exploring the area. This was our first experience of booking through Tripadvisor so we were a little wary but Caroline is a fab host who made everything so easy for us, especially the lovely welcome of milk and biscuits!
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this accommodation if you're visiting Ilfracoombe.
Primrose house in ilfracombe was a lovely place to stay with our family. It was well equipped with modern amenities and had a welcome pack of groceries. All the rooms were spotless and spacious with 2 large bathrooms. Altogether the house is maintained to an extremely high standard and we would recommend it to others.also it's within 15 minutes walk to the harbour and 10 minutes walk to the shops.
This lovely house lived up to all expectation and a welcome pack on our arrival was a special touch. There is a great view of the Torrs from the front and it is in an ideal location both for access to the town and the beautiful surrounding area.
The rooms are spacious and it was ideal for our large group of mixed age range. There is also an enclosed outdoor space with barbecue which is very useful for outdoor eating and fortunately the weather was very kind to us so we were able to make much use of this. A lot of thought has gone into what the holidaymaker might need for their stay and so we found the kitchen to be very well equipped and children are catered for with books, DVDs and games.
The stay at Primrose house was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you Caroline
A lovely house well kept, views looking over hills.
we went for our daughters wedding at the tunnels, a wonderful wedding venue looking over the sea. The beaches are black sand but that doesn't stop you having fun and there are swimming pools in the rocks when the tide is out, beautiful and pictorial . The house we stayed in has everything provided from high chair to all kitchen needs including t' towels and all towels for showering, we love to 2 big baths also great for after being out all day a nice long laze in the bath but the showers are brilliant too. Basically if you think you might need something you most probably won't because it will be there. Good size kitchen diner , large lounge, loads of videos grown up ones and children's. top floor is like a private on-sweet as bedroom door next to big bathroom and bunk beds for the kids next to bedroom.
