We stayed for one night and Sharon the owner greeted us on arrival and was really welcoming even recommending the best places to eat in the evening. We stayed in room 8 which is right at the top. Don't pick this room if you are likely to find the stairs a problem. The view from the room is amazing. The only downside is the bathroom and shower which is tiny. Shame really. Its an immaculate house, beautiful and spotlessly clean and breakfast was gorgeous. We will go back again.

Stayed here for one night and we liked it so much we stayed another night. Sharon is a great host and nothing is too much trouble.

As other reviewers have said, the breakfasts are really very good indeed.
Thoroughly recommended.

Just back from a lovely stay at the Collingdale. The rooms were very clean and well equipped with amazing sea views over the harbour. We were blessed with sunny weather every day so perfect for walks, riding and we even managed a bit of surfing despite the cold weather. Great breakfasts every morning and Sharon was incredibly helpful and welcoming. A really lovely break for all the family.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the harbour have the best views.

We recently did a driving tour of the region and stayed at several B&Bs. This was one of the best we stayed at. The rooms were well equipped, the service was personable and charming. The food was great and the bar was cozy and well stocked. Great location, too. Parking is very cheap in the area but be sure to buy a pre-paid ticket and display it in your car correctly as it is closely monitored by the local council. Everything about this location and the B&B was just marvellous, highly recommended.

A great stay at The Collingdale. We had a very warm welcome from the owners Sharon & Daryl who were very knowledgeable about where to visit on our days out and recommendations for where to eat in the evenings. Our room was very comfortable and had the most amazing views of the harbour and the hillside. We had a drink in the cosy bar before walking down to the harbour and we were surprised at the number of excellent restaurants on offer in Ilfracombe. Breakfast was probably one of the best we have had in any hotel and it is no surprise that they have received an AA breakfast award. We shall definately be returning next year and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ilfracombe.

We had a pleasant two night stay at The Collingdale with relatives over from USA. The breakfast was great, nothing was too much trouble for Sharon. My brother in-law who is American really enjoyed the smoked haddock. He does have trouble walking and found the steps hard work. It's a shame there was no designated parking. When you found a spot to park you really didn't want to move the car. Our room over looked the Harbour and we were treated to the view of Verity the Sculpture designed by Damien Hirst. Quite a talking piece. You either liked it or not. We would visit the Collingdale again.
