After reading such glowing reviews of this restaurant, I was rather disappointed with the chips, which were rather dry and cut too small for my liking. Maybe we arrived at the wrong time and were just unlucky. The plaice however was superb, so fresh that it melted in the mouth and covered in beautifully crisp batter. My wife was also impressed with her plaice, which she ate steamed, rather than battered and fried. The eating area is what you would expect from a fish and chip shop, fairly small and functional, but it was clean and not unpleasant. I could have done without the televisions playing children's cartoons, however. The staff were very polite and friendly and the service was also very efficient. I thought the meals offered good value for money for a restaurant in such a prime location.
