The Cook Island is a very popular and child friendly restaurant with a children's play area.
The food and service are very good. It is a great place for a special occasion and can cater for large groups.
There is easy access for a wheelchair and is mostly on one level.
The car park is large but does get busy.
Wifi is available.

We came for an evening meal with our two young children. To start we received bad service from a staff member, however this changed when another member came over. He was very friendly and helpful. The food portions were huge and good value for money. We had chilli and mexican chicken and both delicious. We also came for lunch a few days later and once again enjoyed the experience. Nice for young families as there is space for children to run around with a soft play area.

Looked good on the outside, but inside was a vast amount of tables and different zones. The menu was ordinary, not much fresh fish considering where the restaurant is set.
I ordered Mexican chicken which was nice enough but the chips served with it were not freshly made and stale.
Redeeming factor were the friendly, helpful staff.

Called in here for an evening meal during a one night stay in Ilfracombe. Looked good from the outside. A very disappointing experience, however! Ordered scampi and chips at about £9+. Scampi so overcooked that the coating was nearly black and hard! Yuk! Noticed that every time my hands touched the table, they stuck! Clearly hadn't been properly cleaned! Very unpleasant! I would definitely not go a second time and would not recommend it to anyone.
