“fun for the kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

We had a pleasant afternoon, if not a little cold. There is enough to see and do for a few hours but not all day. The park is definitely a work in progress and very clean with new exhibits coming soon, apparently. There are a variety of animals with some interesting interactive experiences such as feeding the lion by hand! The exhibits of the Egyptians and dinosaurs are small but interesting enough to bring you in out of the cold. Suitable for up to age 12 but not beyond that, although my husband was tempted to kiss the seal! (another interactive experience)

“Cold but great day.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

On an actual freezing day we decided to visit here, as a whole weekend on the beach was out of the question. It was pretty expensive so I had high hopes. And to be honest I was impressed.
Not all the animals were out.....because of the weather and I don't blame them.
It was a long walk, a lot up hill, but our 4 year old managed it easily and loved it, ESP the dinosaurs.
The actual dinosaur display was great and made authentic with the fence.
There was an indoor play area attached to the cafe, a bit small, but as it wasn't too busy due to the weather, it was fine.
The small museum and Egyptian tomb was vey interesting.
The train ride should have been included in the entry price, but other than that tiny thing, it was a good day.
Most important thing is, our 4 year old loved it.

“back to how it was”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

having previously visited the wildlife and dinosaur park every year,a couple years ago new owners took over the park and charged a great deal of money for all the things that were previously free, the day worked out extremely expensive and we said we would never return. we were so pleased this year,to see that the park was again in the hands of new owners who have restored the park to how it used to be. the lemur encounter and meerkat encounter is no longer £5 each but included in the admission price as it used to be. my son is 11 and loved feeding the lemurs again-as did my almost 50 year old partner.also the free roaming wallabies happily came over to be stroked and fed for only a 50p bag of food. Ok,the dinosaurs may be a bit lame, but being as there are lots of young children visiting the park,i dont think realistic looking fierce dinosaurs with blood dripping from their jaws would be in the parks best interest-or the poor parents who would have to calm down terrified kids. my son's special treat was the sealion meet and greet, although this cost £25 it was still the best £25 ive ever spent,my son fed, stroked, got a kiss and a hug and did a bit of training with morgan the sealion(throwing hoops for him to catch around his neck, and also instructing him to dive into the pool and jump up to hit suspended balls),a photograph was included and he was over the moon with the experience. i would highly recommend this park especially for animal loving kids .the bird of prey encounter is very popular,we never watched it this time as the weather was terrible but on previous occasions my son has voluteered and been chosen to take part in flying the birds of prey. the small rides and golf have now been replaced with an animal enclosure with pigs, rabbits, goats etc so unless you want to do any of the specialised animal experiences, the admission price is really all you need....fab day out, staff were all friendly and helpful despite the bitter weather on the day we went.highly recommend it,just make sure you refer to the daily programme times so you dont miss any of the handling experiences as they really are worth going to
