Lack of kerb appeal on arrival, 4 large rubbish bins under bedroom windows, Had difficulty entering the property due to steep and narrow steps, this could prove a problem for anyone with a walking disability. Once inside we found the apartment very spacious 2 good sized bedrooms with very clean and comfortable beds, nice bathroom with shower and plenty of soft clean towels,, The lounge had fantastic views out to sea well furnished, To the rear of the lounge was a well equipped kitchen area, However the kitchen area was not that clean greasy film over everything, dirty sink , the toaster was full of bread crumbs the saucepans, frying pan and baking trays were dirty with food still on them. We spent a couple of hours cleaning the kitchen area. There's no ventilation in the apartment, lounge window at back overlooking the sea was locked and keys were in a break glass container on the wall. Could not open the bedroom windows at the front as we were at street level with 4 large rubbish bins under the windows. People were putting rubbish in these rubbish bins from about 04.30hrs which woke us up every morning. We did speak to the Cleaning Company and the Owner who both said the cleaner doesn't get a lot of time on Change Over Day to clean. They expect the holiday makers to clean as they leave like most of us do. Unfortunately some don't. However this apartment is in a good position for local amenities shops and the harbour no need to use the car also there's a parking space allocated opposite.
We arrived to the property late as we got stuck in traffic but the owners were waiting for us the first impression of the flat was that it was very clean and nothing gets passed me ! The sea view from the sitting room was lovely & the coastal path was right outside our door also a wide alleyway at the front
took you right into the town. We had a lovely comfortable bed although the kids said their beds were uncomfortable, there was a lot of storage and lots of coat hangers which I was pleased about. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you needed there was even a welcome bottle of wine.We had a lovely time in this property and would book again if we stay in Ilfracombe.
