When we visited the Ilfracombe aquarium I had fully expected the children to be in and out in 10 minutes as it looks so small from the outside. I was really surprised by how much was packed inside and the kids loved it as several of the tanks were open at the top allowing great visualisation of the fish. The staff allowed us to feed the fish and answered all the children's questions. Most of the fish had been caught locally and it was great to learn what we could hope to find in the local rock pools. Everyone had a great time and I would definitely go again.

The aquarium was a wonderful experience for all of us especially for the kids. They loved all of the fish etc. They were a bit scaried of the Octapus. I only wish it was bigger

This aquarium, although small, is a million times better than any Sea Life Centre and at about £12 for our family to visit much better value.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful, interesting and informative. They told us each time they were about to feed the fish so we could watch and took time to show my seven year old son the hidden things in the tanks. I found it particularly interesting to see the fish that we eat, such as coley and pollock, and the baby dogfish in the mermaid's purse.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Alright so it IS small (took about 30 minutes to go around and we were going slow), but it was wonderful and very interesting. Really enjoyed it, amazed at the variety of fish found off the coast there, and nice to see sea life 'just across the way' from us.

This is a small but lovely aquarium, we got around in about 20-30 mins, which was good and the prices were not too high. One of the key attractions is that all the fish are from the local and surrounding waters, which make for very relevant displays. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and very passionate about the fish in the aquarium as they are all very knowledgeable and insightful. It was a great little experience and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to know more about the local marine life.
