“great history”
Review of Tunnels Beaches

Tunnels Beaches

There was not much to actually see on the beach after the Tunnels, but if you like to read about local history it is well worth the few pounds entry fee

Personally, I wouldn't spend the admission price just to see the tunnels, although its a good piece of history, it takes 10 minutes to do so isn't a day thing however, its perfect if its sunny, you can look at the tunnels and then spend the day down the beach. However, make sure its after 12 as the sun doesn't come around to the 'womens beach' until then.
The swimming pool that is left by the tide is perfect for children as parents can sit on the beach while being able to keep a watchful eye on them without the worry of the tide. This is also perfect for inflatables (dinghy/lilos ect.) as there is no risk of them being caught in a rip current.
The rock pooling down there is amazing, you will find all sorts of creatures so make sure you bring a net and bucket!
There is very nice toilets which are cleaned on a regular basis - one of the best beach toilets around here.
The only downside of this beach is the fact it is stone/pebbles and as its only small especially as one of the beaches is now dedicated for weddings so it is very crammed.
Apart from that, its a perfect day out.

Expensive for what it is, a shale beech, but interesting to see the old femail bathing pool, learn how peculiarly the sex's were kept separate and how they got into the sea without being seen. Also some history of how the seaside used to be

We were lucky with the weather when we went and the grandchildren enjoyed walking around the wall out to sea and the cafe was very pleasant.

It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Ilfracombe but once you've been here there's not really any reason to return as there are lots of nicer beaches nearby.

Wow, what a day! We booked the tunnels way in advance and never
regretted a moment. All our questions, whims, and thoughts were
dilligently attended to and we always felt like they were glad to hear
from us.

We wanted a wedding that was creative, unique, fun-filled and
indulgent and you delivered on every account. All the food from snacks
to the meal was beautifully presented by smiling lovely staff who on
were on hand every minute of the day to make sure we had everything we
needed.

It was a truly perfect day we'll never forget and they were a huge
part of that. By the end of it they were almost like family.
