“So safe for Children”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

This is a wonderful place to visit if you are a family. The tidal pool is so safe for Children to swim and paddle in or use inflatables, because its enclosed so there are no tides or waves. It's only visible 3 hours before and after low tide though so check times before visiting. Toilets and feet washers right by the beach. We LOVE it here, and so does our 4year old

“TUNNELS OF BEAUTY, must see :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

we visited the Tunnel Beach late July, while usually i'd be abit peeved at having to pay to visit a beach because it's privately owned but in this case you can see how the tunnels, beach and the pools are very well maintained for future generations (see the website that's just www.tunnelbeaches.co.uk for up to date admission prices/opening times etc ) the historic and sheltered tunnels are very special but the sight that greets you as you emerge is just beautiful! the beach is a strange mix of soft, grey, grit-like sand that stretches out to the bath-tub calm pool that's perfect for all ages,( lifeguard in residence too)...was it my imagination or is the water in this tidal pool warm? certainly felt like it. The whole place has soo much to offer, the rock pools are a favourite with all ages and for the more agile there's nothing like clambering over rocks from the Jurassic coast, there are plenty of places to find a quiet spot, that leaves you feeling like you're in another world. It can get a little crowded just before lunch but the families with small children tend to leave around 3pm-ish so don't let it put you off. There's a foot-wash/wash off area that's handy because this sand sticks but it's a great body polish! There's a new toilet block that has baby change facilities (for wheelchair users, the tunnels are accessible because of the pathways being on one level and a ramp onto the sand, but as i'm able-bodied this is just my opinion and suggest telephoning The tunnels to check) , there's also a cafe within this newly built complex, while this is a bonus i really hope that the owners don't over-develop the tunnels, it's ok to cater for tourists but i'd hate to see them spoilt, it's the naturalness that makes them special imo. We had such a great time that we returned the following day, can't wait to return...beautiful..... tip...take a snorkel and a picnic

“The most amazing wedding venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

We never knew such a wonderful place existed in the UK and feel so lucky to have found The Tunnels Beaches.

We wanted a very relaxed and informal wedding and wanted to just simple enjoy the day with our friends and family all involved.

We booked the venue without even visiting as we live some 200 miles away and was a little unsure if we had made the right decision in asking over 80 guests to travel so far.

We are so happy we did, and so are our guests. Jamie answered all of my questions and made the lead up to the wedding very enjoyable.

Josh and the team made us so relaxed and nothing or no request was too much trouble.

The ceremony with our Steel Band was beautiful and even though we were not worried about the weather due to the fantastic venue, we were treated to a cloudless and warm day, setting the scene for the most amazing sunset later in the day.

Josh kindly took us for a drive in Monty for some photos before we returned to a BBQ that was out of this world. The food was just perfect.

We entertained our guests with singing waiters and the venue and setting helped so much in people letting their hair down and getting in the party mood. And it was a party mood by all until our fireworks display off the beach capped off the most perfect, amazing and special day.

All our guest commented on the venue and ‘it was the best wedding we have ever been to’ seemed to be the comment of the month!!

Our only regret is that its over!

“Don't forget the nets!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

A series of tunnels take you to the beach. You have to pay about £8? for a family. There is a sea-water pool, and lots of rocks to climb and rock pools. Skimming stones also great due to the amount of pebbles. There is no sand. Small amount of historical pictures and blurb were interesting.
