“great stay - will be back!”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Came to Ilfracombe for 3 nights and found the Rainbow Ridge to be a great place to rest at night.
Price was very reasonable considering the quality of the rooms and we were treated to a wonderful homemade breakfast. The hosts were lovely and helpful - we would chat with them for a little bit each morning after breakfast. A wonderful place overall and many great memories were had in this little town.

Room Tip: We selected room 5, the largest of the rooms. It was spacious and had a bay window and seating area...

Yes, our room was a little dated and the shower was rather poor but overall it was quite clean and the bed linen was superb. Also the breakfast was very well cooked, sausage mushrooms, tomato, egg, baked beans and two rashers for the full English and it wasn't swimming in fat. One thing that was odd was that we had a basin in the bedroom as there wasn't room in the en-suite and the toilet made a horrendous noise when flushed (a masticating toilet I believe). If you want excellent basics i.e. good bedlinen and breakfast then this is a great place to stay. There is a great deal of art work around the house which is interesting although I'd try to turn a blind eye to the dust and cobwebs. This B&B offers great value for money.

Room Tip: We stayed in a higher floor room and it was compact but quiet.

We were very impressed with this B and B. Nothing seemed like too much trouble and we got the feeling that the owners had put a lot of thought into the little details. Food was good with a full veggie breakfast option. We upgraded to the four poster room which was somewhere in the region of £60 - we thought this was very good value. It is within walking distance of the town centre, but it is an easy walk (unlike other places in Ilfracombe where we have stayed and you have to hike up one of the hills to get back!). It doesn't look up to much from the outside but we were impressed and would stay here again.

Room Tip: We felt it was worth upgrading to the four poster room.

Super friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, great location (with parking) and the best full English (vegetarian for us) we've had in a long time. Can't see any reason to look elsewhere. Recommended for families, couples, business visits, everyone really, so welcoming.

We stayed here for 2 nights in September. Rainbow Ridge is approx. 10 mins walk to the Harbour and Town, we came to Ilfracombe to visit friends a few streets away and celebrate our Wedding anniversary, so we chose this B&B for its convenience. So glad we did the.
Our room was Number 5, it had a Four Poster Bed that was extremely comfortable and was well furnished and clean and well presented.
The bathroom was clean and bright and I think very new, but spotless. There was a seating area in front of the window that overlooked the main road with Tea and Coffee making facilities.
We were greeted by both the owners and they made the effort to sit with the guests at Breakfast for a chat and gave directions and advise on walks and places to eat - nice touch.
Breakfast was great there was a fresh pot of Coffee juices, fruit and cereals and anything you wanted cooked to order.
It would be difficult to fault this B&B, I have stayed at some very expensive hotels that are nowhere as clean and friendly as this highly recommended Guest House.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 5 in the front of the building with a four Poster Bed

We stayed here for 2 nights in August, the B&B is 10 mins walk from the town and harbour. We had room 10 and 12 at the top. The owners came and sat with us at breakfast and were very friendly. Food was excellent. A nice little place to stay in town. Only downside was the creaky bed and slow shower in room 10 but would stay again if we return to Ilfracombe.
