We arrived on a Sunday night with no booking, but were greeted by a very friendly, helpful waitress who offered us a beautifully layed up table for two. From the minute we entered the restaurant we loved the warm, cosy feel and that only increased as more and more diners arrived. The food was of a very high quality, wonderfully fresh, piping hot and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere slowly built up through the evening, but things really took off in style when a man went down on bended knee mid restaurant and popped the question to his fiance. Once the YES was confirmed it was drinks all round from the very happy couple and an already excellent evening got even better. Clearly Basils won't be able to offer that kind of entertainment on a nightly basis, but the food, atmosphere and value for money makes this little gem well worth a visit regardless.
