Description: The Harbour Lights is a Guest House and licensed restaurant situated in the heart of Ilfracombe's Heritage Harbour on the spectacular North Devon Coast. The Harbour Lights is ideal for visitors seeking affordable North Devon B&B or Half-Board accommodation. Built in 1895 as a small Victorian hotel The Harbour Lights now houses a ground floor licensed restaurant and nine en-suite letting rooms. The berth for the Lundy Island ferry is a 2 minute stroll from our front door.In addition to being the home port for private yachts Ilfracombe is still a working harbour with fresh fish, crabs and lobster landed daily.Harbour Lights is a family-run business. We hope you enjoy your visit. :)

“lovely staff, home cooked food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

decor is so so outdated, alcove chairs, lots of large plastic plants, orange lampshades. some netting dangling from the ceiling. Food came without delay and it was homely. there is no refinement to its cooking or its presentation but we didn't go hungry. Lobster was well cooked. belly of pork could do with more taste/ seasoning and a better gravy. excellent friendly service. would like to go back for the food, will ignore the shabby decor.

“Lovely little place with friendly staff but food - oh dear”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

The place is sweet and the ladies were lovely but the food is not good if you order anything more adventurous than a curry or shepherds pie! I had scallops that weren't debearded and were full of grit with burnt chorizo. My husband had mussels half of which were shut and the sauce was basically water. Steak and gammon were ok but overall a disappointment.

“Fabulous meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

Warm welcome, had a lovely evening meal, very flavoursome and beautifully presented. Service very good. Great location by the harbour, didn't actually stay here, but will do when we come to Ilfracombe again. Would certainly recommend for a meal from my experience.

“OK food - but it took AGES”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

The food was fine when it finally arrived, but it took a very long time to get to us. Staff were friendly and they did come and say it wouldn't be too much longer, but the kids were virtually eating the furniture by then. It wasn't particularly busy when we arrived, but was full when we left with people standing waiting for tables. I had the pork belly which was tasty but the service is a bit old fashioned (serving the veg on the plate with the main, rather than in a separate dish). The veg was also on the cold side. My husband's fish pie was a bit watery, kids' food was OK. Quite nice decor - you could tell you were near the sea!

“A real taste of the sea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

Harbour Lights is a lovely place to eat in Ilfracombe. Lovely and clean and with pleasant friendly staff. Very popular so its best to go early evening. The food is first class and served quickly. Been going to Harbour Lights for quite a few years now and always go back.
