“Great live music”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Stayed a week in Lee Bay and visited the Grampus twice - once for lunch, sitting outside in the garden in Spring sunshine and once for Friday evening supper. The setting is picturesque and very quiet - don't come if you like busy, slick city venues - this is rustic with a capital R. Dogs are welcome.

The lunch was disappointing but homely whilst the recommended French wine was stunning and we took a bottle back with us. Friday supper was totally different. The food was good - the atmosphere was brilliant. Live music, locals and visitors alike turning up until there was little room to move. Unfortunately, with two small people in our group we had to leave before midnight - I think they may have carried on the playing and partying until the early hours. Certainly worth a visit and we will certainly return.

“Lovey Setting Small Portions”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

A lovely place to visit, secluded garden and very peaceful, about 8 tables eating most with dogs, we had our dog too and there was lots of table to table conversation (about dogs!)

We came for lunch and chose the ploughmans and a Panini

Ploughmans was really quite small for the price, no grapes, apple, celery or picked onions just cheese and bread and salad, Panini was quite acceptable but again wasn't very big - could have ordered fries but didn't want to bump up our bill (Panini was already £5)

Total bill of £17 which we felt was quite expensive for a small ploughmans and a tuna Panini with 2 pints of shandy at lunchtime.

Reviewed May 14, 2014

We usually come here every year whilst on holiday.meals always good .we arrived quite early around 6.30 pm and were slightly worried due to lack of customers.we need not have worried before long it was full to the rafters we think due to an open mike night which unfortunately we went able to stay for as it started at 9 and we had to get our elderly relative back to bed.do try there Ploughmen's its always great

“Characterful and Quirky Devonshire pub in beautiful Fushia Valley”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

Extremely rustic, totally unpolished pub with a great deal of charm. A little gem in Lee with a suntrap beer garden attracting walkers, families with children and dogs.
Have visited twice recently - once with kids - who were entertained by the Ping-Pong (though the rustic, un-manicured nature of the garden does result in a little bit of lose and find with the ping pong ball) and once more without the kids to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
The menu is simple, traditional food but executed well using locally sourced ingredients. The owner has also recently starting brewing his own ale to complement an already eclectic, quality mix of beers.

“Lovely relaxing lunch”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

This is a charming pub in a beautiful location. My family and I ( including our 2 Labradors ) were made to feel very welcome at The Grampus. We have visited this pub several times over the last couple of years whilst on holiday near by. We ordered paninis which come with a salad garnish and coleslaw - we also ordered a side dish of chunky chips. Our lunch was lovely, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. This pub is a very relaxed dining experience - chill out and enjoy! Can't wait to visit next time in Lee Bay :)
