A little put of from the service of this pub, landlord was not polite when I was being served, very abrupt.. Due to this I won't be visiting this pub again Also had some friends eat here and they pointed out a strong smell of sewage from outside, not at all nice when eating food.. AVOID

“Two visits ...”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

... one whilst doing the Coast Path, a bowl of gorgeous hand cut chips and a lovely ale made us book for the evening. What a super pub and meal, nothing was too much trouble as we waited for a table to become available. (Try the chilli peanuts, in the jar, behind the bar!) Great steak, local and a wonderful curry from the Specials board. Great staff, not too fussy but spot on attention and checking that all was good. Would definitely recommend the walk up from the Path to the pub, you will enjoy what ever is on offer I am sure. Missed desserts due to substantial portions! Wish I could play the piano .... maybe next time.

“Open Mic Night”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Visited the Grampus whilst staying in Ilfracombe. Had an very enjoyable evening. Food, chicken and leek pie, was delicious and the open mic night was very good, a fantastic atmosphere, pub was packed to the rafters. The Grampus is off the beaten track but definitely worth a vist.

We were looking for a dog friendly pub and found the red barn in Woolacombe but not fancying a crazy themed restaurant we headed for the grampus inn.... So glad we did. The chicken pie wad stunning as we're the hand cut chips... All homemade. The chocolate brownies and ice cream equally amazing..... Great food great pub..
