“Unsatisfactory room”
Reviewed August 18, 2010

We were allocated a room which in our opinion wasn't satisfactory, a complaint was made, but to no avail.
However the restaurant/bar staff and meals were very good.
Despite that we won't be staying there again.

Stayed here on a five day holiday with Alfa travel. The hotel is situated just by Ilfracombe theatre with a stroll down to a lovely bay only minutes away. We were greeted by the manager, who made us feel at home straight away. The service was excellent throughout, especially in the dining room. The food was always tasty and hot. Our room had everything we needed although we had only a view of a wall and the room was rather warm, but we didn't spend much time there so it wasn't a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel it was lovely.
As ever the Alfa holiday was great value.

My wife and I booked with Alpha, we stayed at the Imperial hotel at Ilfracombe, it was great. The manager met us on the coach, with a very good and humerous greeting, and was the same through out our stay. The staff they were second to none, nice all round kids, and hard working, meals on time, very good service, and joined in with the fun.
The hotel is close to the sea and harbour, it is clean, and the rooms are clean, and at the time of the year the rooms and hotel was warm. The entertainment was good, not great, but good. Overall our stay there was wonderful. I would go back, and I would say get away and see it for yourselves

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Xmas period. The Manager Igor and staff were excellent. The food was very good and so was the service. A good selection of evening entertainment in music. Our table waitress Nadia was always smiling and super fast service for all courses. Drinks were normal prices with no over charges like some hotels we have stayed at. Would certainly recommend a stay here. The manager has wicked sense of humour and should be in a higher rated hotel.

This was a "Tinsel & Turkey" Mon-Fri package with an organised group. Ingo, the hotel manager, greeted everyone on arrival and check in (48 people) was extremely well organised. The restaurant service was very good with a varied menu. The enthusiasm of the really pleasant and hard working staff really does deserve recognition - nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The hotel itself is clean, although it could do with a makeover in certain areas this would certainly not stop me from returning.

on arrival with alfa coaches (driver, andy) we were met by the manager and the holiday started from then on, his manner and attitude was reflected by all the staff who all had nothing but good words for him.the food and service was excellent, always courteous and always witha smile, our waitress, nadia was always smartly presented and always smiling, nothing was too much trouble. the location was excellent, except our room was at the rear and overlooking a wall and staircase, but that is only a place to sleep, we dont spend our holidays sitting the bedroom. we met some good friends there, which gave us good company and we are still in touch with them, we went from 12th to 16th august just five days, it went too quickly and could have stayed longer
