Having been in Ilfracombe on a weekend break, we were trying to find somewhere to eat Sunday lunch.

We found the bar and asked if we could stay for lunch and we were told we could so we ordered a drink and paid for the carvery which was reasonably priced at £9.95 each.

The food was fresh and locally produced and we had 3 meats and plenty of fresh vegetables to choose from.

The chef was polite and really helpful and kind.

If I lived closer, this would be a regular visit for us.

Lovely food and pleasant staff.

Thank you.

Nice room spoilt by the chavs that live in Devon
I’m shocked all locals are alcoholics that fall asleep in this hotel which is actually a b+b
The view from the main room is amazing but the view of the local chavs is repulsive

I stayed here with my husband and son for three nights. Check in was good and shown to our rooms. Carpark is minutes away costing £8 for 24 hours which is fine ( peak season price). Because of the amazing location of the hotel you could not expect it to have its own carpark unless you park on the beach? The room is basic but as said before, it’s clean. Lovely cosy bar to sit in for drinks. A good selection of breakfast was available and you could help yourself to tea/coffee/juice/toast/cereal. I had a full English and had no complaints. This hotel is in an amazing location for you to walk around Ilfracombe and its see its beautiful coast lines. I would definitely recommend to anyone that doesn’t expect 5* luxury but is happy with basic and clean. All staff were very friendly. My one suggestion to the owner is to turn the heating down. I know we don’t like cold rooms but we had our window open and two fans on in the room to keep cool. Maybe needed when the temperature drops a bit more.

Outstanding quality and value overall! Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent! Even thought the building is historically old the rooms are clean and comfortable. We've stayed in a small double and in the penthouse suite.... both were excellent value for money
