“Ideal location with pleasant, friendly atmosphere”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Stayed here with my son for a short break. Very friendly and Ruth & Co cant do enough for you. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and kept my son happy and feeling full which says something. Loved the personal touch to the service. The premises are ideally located for plenty of sight seeing. Parking is limited although Ruth is more than happy to direct to long stag car parks. The only problem we had during our stay was with the showere which alternates unexpectedly between hot and cold when running but wouldnt be a good enough reason for us not to recommend the place to others which is highly recommended :-)

Lovely hotel, we had a very clean room and met the friendly staff. Great breakfast too, a large choice and good portions. Close to the bays and the harbour, convenient for planning a boat trip like we did.

An excellent hotel / Guest house. Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The single room (No 7) was a good sized single with everything you needed for a comfy stay. It's a good idea to be tolerant of noise as a lot of pub noise at night can be heard in the room, although I didn't find it a problem as I was always so tired from my days out. The hotel is right on the harbour front so the Lundy ferry was a minute's walk away, as was the long term car park. Very friendly staff and fantastic breakfasts were the order of the day. I didn't eat in the restaurant - it looked tasty but pretty expensive for my tastes. I would certainly happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Parking in Ilfracombe (and all the Devon council-run car parks) is a complete rip-off. The long term...

I stayed at the Harbour Lights for one night with my son. We arrived back late after playing golf and even though the restaurant had closed they cooked us a fantastic meal. The welcome from Ruth and the staff was extremely friendly and the hotel room was smart and clean. The hotel is located in a great spot and the lovely old building has tons of character. What a great place and good value too!

Just arrived home from staying at harbour lights b&b, couldn't have picked a better place to stay with my husband and 4 year old son . Ruth and her family were very accommodating to our needs and there wasn't anything they could not do for us. They are a very hard working family run business. They made our stay very memorable...thank you

Just returned from a three night stay in this nice b&b , from the second we walked in the door nothing was too much trouble , we were made to feel so welcome. My son was scuba diving and they were more than happy to store his kit and even provide a lovely packed lunch instead if his breakfast! The room was spacious and had a living room , all very clean ( if slightly dated ) but a very pleasant room ! Location was excellent in terms of being right at the harbour, but was noisy at night due to the pub across the road ! Breakfast was lovely and well cooked and presented ! Overall very good value for money and a very pleasant stay, the owners are the real asset in this business , making everyone feel so welcome ! Thanks for a great weekend xxxxx
