We loved visiting Ilfracombe and it was made truly special by staying at The Elmfield. Our room was beautiful and spacious with an amazing view. Our hosts, Zoe, Matt and their two lovely boys made us feel so at home. We enjoyed some homemade sloe gin upon arrival and a huge feast too! We went on a big coastal walk with the Hotel Dog, Lola. Zoe mapped out our route for us and gave us some idea of what there was to do in the town. We were so spoilt by the family at Breakfast and we all sat and ate a proper full englisg with fresh fruit and yoghurts. Its one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and we can't wait to come back with our little boy as there was a big playroom he would love!

Just got back from a weekend at the elmfield and found the entire stay charming and relaxing. Hosts Zoe and Matt were friendly, helpful and accomidating from the second we arrived, to the moment they hugged my partner and I goodbye.

Our room was spacious and spotless and we were surprised with how quiet it was even with its secluded location.

Zoe made home cooked curry for us on our first Night and it was incredible, afterwards both zoe and matt Stayed with us at their bar and a great night was has by all.

We had a great nights sleep and breakfast in the morning was spot on, and as ever presented in a friendly homely fashion by our hosts. Zoe took the time out to draw us a map of the surrounding area and things to check out. We took a coastal path walk, checked out a few local pubs and got back to the elmfied chuffed.

Just got back today and we already miss it. Great character, great people, great hotel and we cant wait til our next visit. Thanks guys!

We went to The Elmfield for two nights and loved it so much we ended up staying for three. We found it great value for money, with gorgeous rooms, excellent breakfast and lots of little extras (a drink on arrival, DVD's to borrow, an honesty bar etc...) Matt and Zoe were warm and welcoming and we felt really looked after.
We are expecting our first baby very shortly, and hope to return with our little one very soon.

Having stayed at this hotel last week, we found this little gem to be truly lovely!
The hosts, Matt and Zoe were attentive, chatty but not in your face all the time, they made us feel very welcome.
Breakfast we very tasty and presentation was lovely.
We will definitely go there again......Thank you, Matt and Zoe, for a lovely relaxing stay

Room Tip: We had room 1, views were okay but we weren't there for the views.

We stayed as a family in a family suite at The Elmfield and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very child friendly and we felt more like house guests. The welcome and the ambiance were great! The rooms were comfortable and the food was excellent.

Had such a wonderful night here! Was greeted at the door by Zoe who welcomes you in like you are family! Our room was so beautiful and elegant. It was large very clean and comfortable with a wonderful ensuite! Our four poster bed was extremely comfortable with the softest sheets! We slept so well! The hotel is in a lovely setting with a lovely garden and a brilliant indoor heated swimming pool! There was plenty on offer for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of our cooked breakfast! Zoe is a wonderful host who is warm and friendly and I really can't wait to go back and experience this first class service again!
