We went to Spindrift Cottage for 10 days for our honeymoon and had the most relaxing and wonderful time! The cottage was warm and cosy; it was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We would watch the birds coming to the feeders or pay table tennis! We visited Loch Ness, went up the mountains and went to the Highland zoo. The views driving around were very beautiful. We saw deer and a golden eagle! We will defintiely be returning and thank you to Jules and Judy for being the best hosts!
A great location just outside Kingussie. Super for bird watching, RSPB Insh Marsh a short distance away. Marvellous for photography with many wonderful trees and landscapes.
A warm welcome from the owners and a very comfortable cottage with great amenities, a superb place to return to at the end of the day.
We loved Spindrift Cottage, which we visited for a week in October half term. It is in a beautiful and quiet location but near enough to Kingussie to walk down to the local shops and railway station and 2 of our party actually attended a spinning class at the leisure centre. We could do walks from the cottage and there was plenty of peaceful and scenic walking within half an hours drive, the autumn colours being particularly lovely.
The cottage was the best we've ever stayed in in this country, it was warm, comfortable and exceptionally clean, We loved the fact it had 2 shower rooms, an extremely well appointed kitchen and a large warm porch to leave all our outdoor clutter. The bikes with helmets and locks and table tennis table were readily available and added to our enjoyment.
The owners were friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips about the area yet remaining discreet,
Clean, comfortable, warm, well equipped cottage. Convenient location, especially as this year we had to travel by train. Only 15 minutes easy and pleasant walk from Kingussie. with its shops, station and buses. Dipper frequently seen nearby on the Gynack and Spey. Good walks from the door. Ruthven Barracks only a few minutes walk and RSPB Loch Insh hides less than 20 minutes. Would have been just as convenient with a car.
A lovely place to stay. Spindrift has everything you need for your stay. Although a welcome tray laid out on the table would be appreciated, instead of away in the cupboard. The beds were very comfortable, although i did notice the pillows and quilts were feather. Not a problem for me but for others may be a problem, so would be nice to have an alternative. Loved watching the birds on the feeder just outside the windows, so relaxing and peaceful. There are lots of places to explore in the surrounding area, and Jules was very helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Had a lovely stay and hope to be back.
My third stay at this cottage. The new owners , Judy and Jules, have maintained the high standards of the previous owners with the cottage as spotlessly clean as ever. The cottage is centrally located for main roads, but private and quiet. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, powerful hot showers, cosy accommodation. Judy and Jules are extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. What more do you need?
I am already planning to book for next year.
We had a great week. Judy & Jules were very welcoming and their advice on places to eat and visit were really helpful. Cottage is perfect with only exception being the lack of extended views of the stunning scenery from rear decking. Highlights of our holiday were the walk up/down cairn gorm and a few hours later sunbathing on the beach beside loch morlich. Also had a lovely meal at old bridge inn in aviemore.Lots to do but also a great place to chill.
