“Excellent ..as always”
Reviewed May 8, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Second time I have stayed at Spindrift and just as the first time the cottage was immaculately clean. A pleasure to return 'home' each night to comfy sofas, beds and gallons of hot shower water. A very private cottage, not overlooked. I loved the fresh home made bread and wine which greeted me on arrival. Julie and John are great hosts without being intrusive. I am already planning to stay in 2017, which says it all really.

lovely cottage. view of Ruthven barracks and a short walk for an evening floodlit visit. many birds on the multiple feeders and a cheeky red squirrel on the decking tempted by monkey nuts. we had 2 boys of 12 and 9 and did 4 epic biking days at wolftrax/rothiemurcus etc and 3 Canadian canoe paddles- 2 on the spey and 1 at loch laggan. hope to be back. Julie the owner very welcoming with homemade bread/bottle wine. boys loved table tennis table especially.

“Great holiday in the Cairngorms in an excellent cottage, ideal location.”
Reviewed March 27, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Warm friendly welcome, Julie and John have done an excellent job with the cottage. Clean, well furnished accommodation, photos don't do it justice. Unexpected milk, wine and home made bread on arrival were a nice touch. Great base for touring the area. Lots of info on the area available for you to use in the cottage. Watching the birds in the garden is great, lovely to wake up to bird song and to see what birds are outside and of course the squirrel too. Would recommend the cottage to anyone, would definitely stay again, good value for money.

“Fabulous cottage in amazing location”
Reviewed February 22, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The cottage was amazing, kitted out to a really good standard and is probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in!! The hosts Julie and John were on hand to sort any issues, not that there were any. The location is superb too, walks from the front door and easy access to Aviemore and Glenmore. We went on number of walks and the scenery is beautiful, we even had snow for a few days.

The cottage is clean, bright and warm. All the usual amenities and there, also had free Wi-Fi , great for out teenage girls!

“Extremely comfortable and warm,welcoming accommodation”
Reviewed January 30, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

I stayed here for a week in January. The owners, Julie and John, were extremely welcoming and helpful. There was even delicious home baked bread awaiting me on arrival.

The accommodation itself is excellent throughout with obviously a lot of thought given to all your needs; a well equipped kitchen, nice shower, comfortable sofas, and a large porch which also acts as a great drying room which. And ,so important in winter to come home to, the place is lovely and warm. I can't wait to return!

“Another Fantastic stay”
Reviewed January 7, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Our second visit to holiday at Spindrift Cottage part of Ruthven Steadings, it was all we remembered and more.
Very fortunate to stay for 2 weeks Xmas and New Year. John and Julie are excellent hosts, fresh baked bread and home made mince pies (made with apples from the garden)welcomed us.
The accomodation is excellent a double bed/ensuite, a twin room and separate shower & toilet, lounge and well equipped kitchen. The cottage is 5*, John and Julie are contactable at any time if there are any questions but leave you alone to savour the relaxation a holiday here gives you.
The Windows at the back of the cottage looked out over the inner courtyard where we saw so many beautiful birds at the feeders, including a beautiful woodpecker, and Kevin the pheasant who visits daily for food! The front patio Windows look out over the lawn where there are more feeders and we were entertained by "Sid" the Red Squirrel.
The cottage is well placed to visit and travel around this area. The weather was colder than down south so we felt like it was Christmas and did have some snow which was nice.
It is a wrench to leave but we will be back again and look forward to this whenever it is.

The cottage is situated around a 20 minutes walk from the main Kingussie centre and is set in a very well maintained garden that is alive with wildlife. Both bedrooms are very spacious along with a huge lounge/diner that is fully kitted out with modern appliances. Wi-fi was always available and we were kindly left a selection of home grown vegetables which were very tasty and washed down with a complimentary bottle of wine. As keen fishermen it is perfect as it's situated 5 minutes walk from the river Spey. Highly recommended and we have booked up again for next year.
