“Clean comfortable and welcoming”
Reviewed May 9, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

A very pleasant clean, comfortable and well furnished cottage with all the facilities and equipment you could ever need. Lots of space for a couple! Very welcoming host and hostess who explained all the extras facilities very clearly ( bikes, table tennis washing machine)

The visitors book contains many reports from retuning visitors - I can see why!

We normally stay north of Aviemore but couldnt find anywhere on short notice luckily Spindrift was available and what a suprise,in an ideal position with good views and an abundance of bird life ,we also saw a stoat in the garden. The accommodation is first rate ,clean and spacious with all that is needed for a holiday. Our hosts John and Julie were friendly and welcoming and available at a moments notice but not intrusive.I hesitate to recommend this property incase we cant get in again.

We have visited Spindrift almost every year since 2004. Accommodation wonderful, comfortable and immaculate. Little extra touches like homemade bread and jam fantastic. Excellent base for touring the beautiful Cairngorms and seeing local wildlife - even caught sight of a pine martin in the gardens this visit!! Owners Julie and John very welcoming and helpful.

My wife and I stayed here 6 to 13 Sept 2014.
It does not get any better than this. This cottage is top class the best we have ever stayed at.
Everything is top quality inside and out and the owners are great hosts
Julies Home baking left for us is the tops and the home grown plums great.
The area is wonderful.
We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year for our Diamond Wedding

“Peaceful and very comfortable.”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Easy walk or cycle into Kingussie for shops and restaurants, and also very convenient for days out in Rothiemurchus and Aviemore area. A great 10 mile cycle to the Pottery tearoom.

“Wonderful holiday”
Reviewed July 25, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

My partner and I stayed at the cottage in June of this year, and were so sad to leave by the end of the week. Julie and John, the owners, are such a fantastic team and wonderful hosts. We were greeted by the lovely Julie upon arrival and shown around; the cottage was spotlessly clean and had a few extra items in it, such as a fresh loaf of bread, bottle of wine and pint of milk, that really made you feel very welcome. There's a lovely patio out the front, as well as a lawn to sit on and plenty of bird feeders (some with wildlife cams) to watch.

The cottage itself is modern and fully equipped with a dishwasher etc., plus you have access to wifi, a washing machine and two bikes for the duration of your stay. It's located in a secluded spot just outside Kingussie within a short walk of Ruthven Barracks and Insh Marshes RSPB reserve. Kingussie itself has plenty of amenities such as a cash machine, small Co-op, Boots, post office and a couple of restaurants and pubs. Plus you're only a short drive from Aviemore where all the main action in the Cairngorms is.

We had such a fantastic week that we wished we'd booked two. I dare say we'll be booking our next trip to Spindrift in the near future as it's just the place you want to visit year on year. I'd thoroughly recommend the cottage (and it's sister Sundower cottage next door) to anyone thinking of having a break in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park.
