I am delighted that you have had a relaxing stay with us, the pool and spa is certainly a great place to go after a days skiing. The refurbishment of our reception, bar and restaurant is now complete and we have been receiving superb feedback from our guests. My team look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

My wife, myself and our friends stayed at the Angus Hotel for their recent Elton John tribute night. We had a great time, check in was prompt, friendly and helpful, we were told where the function would take place, when and where to gather and where we would be seated.
Our room while not large was clean and comfortable.
As for the evening itself there was a good choice of food and when served was tasty and plentiful, service was very efficient. "Elton John" was good even though he seemed to be struggling a bit with throat problem.
After "Elton" left the building there was a disco until the small hours, we shared our table with 6 others who we didn't know at the start of the evening but certainly did know them by the end of it, a good friendly crowd.
Breakfast next day was excellent, special praise to the breakfast staff who were were very efficient and organised, other hotels could learn a lesson here.
We would without doubt return to the Angus Hotel.

We booked into this hotel as they said they had a room with disabled facilities suitable for someone in a wheel chair.
THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.
When we called reception to say we had been put in wrong room, they said no that was correct room as that floor was all on the level so suitable for someone in a wheelchair.
The gentleman from reception came up to the room in question and said they had no facilities for wheelchair users. We told him the name of the person we had made the booking with and that he had said the hotel met all the needs of someone in a wheelchair.
He showed us the family room and said we could have that one. that gave us space to move a wheelchair about but still no chance of getting into the toilet.
On our suggestion he did go to a local health centre and borrowed a commode chair for us, for which we were very greatfull.
The next morning the fire alarm rang. No one came up to our room to help with the removale of the person in the wheelchair. Luckly it was a false alarm.
The hotel was very drab and in need of redecoration

The concerns raised in this review have been dealt with and a positive outcome was achieved with the guest.
We have limited bedrooms which have level access with our lift suitable for a wheelchair user, we do not have bedrooms or bathrooms adapted for a wheelchair bound user.

Just come back from a weekend break at The Angus Hotel. Really nice hotel, lovely rooms and excellent meals. All staff very friendly and helpful. Leisure facilities were fine too, nice to go for a relaxing swim before dinner. The only problem with the weekend that we chose was the fact that there was a line dancing convention which had taken over the hotel. They were pretty amusing with all their costumes etc but it did mean that there was no entertainment for the other guests as the ballroom was booked by the line dancers. The only entertainment was on Saturday night when there was what was supposed to be a disco in the lounge. We actually went out and discovered a nice bar just over the road, called Thirty One, there is also a good pub with very friendly locals called The Cartwheel that played live music on both the Saturday and Sunday nights which was excellent., so well worth it to have a little wander out after your meal and seek out your own entertainment. Having said that if all you want is a quiet drink then the hotel is fine for that.

I would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel and we will be returning again as we enjoyed our stay in such a lovely area.

We had a 4 day stay at the Angus Hotel in August 2009 and had a great time. We were given a family room which more than accommodated our needs with a young child. The hotel itself is "tired" in areas but other than that no other issues.

The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Our wee boy was given plenty of attention during mealtimes which he was more than happy about!

The food was to a very high standard and a great selection was always on offer.

The swimming pool was fantastic with jacuzzi and sauna area available.

We would definetely recommend the Angus Hotel and it is also placed at a good location. We will visit again for another very enjoyable stay.

We stay at this hotel around 3 times a year and honestly the place just gets better and better. Busy hotel with good atmosphere, exceptional staff, food and service. My kids love the swimming pool. The hotel is spotlessy clean. Each time we have stayed our room has been spotless and the beds are really comfy with great duvets and pillows, best nights sleep for me.
We will definately be visiting more often and can't wait to return to the Angus. Blairgowrie is a lovely little town and very central for visiting, Dundee, Edinburgh etc, Pitlochry is a must visit, lovely cafes and distillery.

Our room was small though adequate and clean but unfortunately some of the fittings need attention; the door knob & lock was so loose that we found it difficult to lock the door from the outside and the towel rail in the bathroom actually fell apart. We were relieved when the racket from the disco in the pub opposite ceased soon after midnight leaving us with the lullaby of drunks shouting and fighting in the street as they made their way home; but that's not something the hotel has any control over. Some of the corridor carpets are threadbare to the point of being dangerous. On the positive side, the front desk staff were polite and friendly, but the evening bar-staff looked as though they wished their shift would end as soon as possible. The hotel has plenty of meeting and (evening) dining space for our gathering of about 60 and could take more. The food was palatable but more mass produced than haute cuisine. Breakfast was chaotic; it seemed that so many customers arriving together came as a surprise. Fruit juice and milk were finished when we turned up and took a while to replace, the cooked food was very greasy and my egg was cold when it arrived. It's probably ok for the ‘old folks’ on budget coach tours and shouldn’t pretend to be anything else without a major refurbishment.
Value for money? No, absolutely not; very overpriced for what we got.
