When we arrived there was no body on reception we went in the bar and a member of staff came to reception we told her we had two room booked we was told about the no smoking in rooms policy which did not apply to us as we are non smokers when we went into our room my wife opened up the bed when a tab end fell out ,we went back to reception told the lady who went to check , another member of staff apologised and offered a free upgrade for both couples which we accepted when we got to the room we had cold showers no hot water . When we told reception we was told to let the water run ,we told them we had done this for 20minutes we left to go to a restaurant. The following morning hot water was working

Had a very enjoyable weekend at this hotel. Staff very helpful, rooms very comfortable and food great. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very concerned that everything is okay. Would recommend this hotel any time.

Booked in as a party of 6 for the walking weekend. Exceptional value for a weekend. The food was excellent and couldn't be faulted. Lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly. Blairgowrie a lovely place with some nice wee shops. Hotel was busy which is always a good sign. We will be back.

having read some of the negative reports about the royal hotel, we were slightly concerned. on arrival we were shown to our rooms, a tradition that seems to be in the past. the rooms are spotless the beds are comfy and the showers are great. the food is first class and plenty of it on your plate. evening meals and breakfast were excellent.the staff i could not fault at all. i cant comment on the rooms in the annexe as we wasnt in there, but the rooms in main building are fine. some people must be very hard to please. i highly reccomend this hotel and we will go back again

We stayed as a group of 6 doing walking weekend! Great welcome rooms could do with a upgrade but clean and beds comfy! Dinner on both nights excellent and far to much! Breakfast well what can I say the waitress was so slow it was funny and Sergio the waiter was like Manuel from faulty towers! He was ace! Great time and had loads of laughs! We will be back!
