Description: The Laird's House is just stones throw from one of the great walks in the area. The laird's house is open for teas and coffee's with a selection of cakes and scones. We offer an informal lunch and slightly more formal Dinner. Ross in the kitchen is very proud of our steaks and takes great pleasure in specially selecting our beef. We are open Monday and Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday to Saturday inclusive 9am-11pm and Sunday 10am-5pm

It must be a difficult balance to make - for a restaurant to be child friendly but still be a place where adults love to go....it must be difficult as so few places manage it!!! However, the Lairds House have got it sussed. Went here on a Friday evening for OH's birthday and were so pleased we did. Fabulous food and atmosphere. Kids menu is good with a nice, varied selection of QUALITY food (no rubbish cardboard pizza's here!) and the play corner is a godsend - You can sit and enjoy the evening without worrying about kids getting bored and wrecking the place (and don't worry those of you without children, it is situated in an unobtrusive area so they are not too in your face!). Main evening menu is refreshed regularly I believe and the selection we had was spot on. A few old favourites (home made pies) mixed in with fantastic steaks, lamb and fish dishes. Yum. Service is great - friendly, welcoming whilst always professional - again a difficult mix to get right. Will def be heading back again - just sad it took us this long to find out how good it is.

This is a lovely place - the food is wonderful and the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel wanted and to cater for all requirements. They have a very varied menu offering soup, sandwiches and meals which offer small, medium and large portions and on Sundays offer two or three course dinners. Everything is served beautifully and tastes great - however where this place really stands out is the fact that they are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure customers are happy. Young children are catered for with a small play area which is great as it is tucked away so diners are not disturbed and children can play happily. Also nice to have a look at the lovely locally produced crafts available for sale. This place fits the bill for all occasions whether for a quick coffee and scone or for more formal dining. Families are welcome and it is pleasant and tasetfully furnished without being stuffy.
