“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2013

I had the great priviledge to attend a weekend function at Drumkilbo with a group of 10. It is one of the best weekends I have enjoyed in a very long time. The home is simply amazing. You can easily get lost in this massive place looking at all the history contained in each part of the house. The parties each night dinning were incredible and the catering offered provide excellent meals. The owner, Denise and Carol ensure every single detail is attended to so that you can have an incredible vacation.

I highly reccomend this property to any corporate group for a weekend activity or a family gathering or a group of friends. It offers the chance to have fun times together but also big enough to have some private time to relax.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Glamis suite which used to be the Queen's suite for many years. Check this out.

This house is massive! It was kinda creepy having such a large house and knowing people died on a hanging tree outside of it. It creaks a lot and the downstairs part is dark and cold. The swimming pool is freezing and my cousin nearly drowned in the deep end... It's really good if you go in a large group we went with 25 people and had spare rooms so people did enjoy themselves!

Room Tip: The suites have bigger showers than individual rooms.

Drumkilbo is a very special house. Recently, my family (18 of us) gathered at Drumkilbo for a 4 night stay. This is a very large house dating back to the 12 centruty and sits in about 18 acres of beautful gardens and woodland. The house can sleep 23 comfortably with individually decorated rooms. The main sitting room is really sumptious and had more than enough seating for us all and can even be used for dancing if required. The dining room with its ornate fire place was just stunning. There is even a games room with full size snooker table. You can arrange for catering but we had the house on a self catetered basis and even had a BBQ by the pool which was just lovely. I cannot praise the house enough for its grandeur, historic interest, gardens and comfort. It would be easy to spend all your time at the house but if you do want to get out and about, there is plenty to do and see in the area. We have been to the house twice now and would recommend it to anyone for a family get together or large group gathering.

Without a doubt in my mind, this is the best value for money in terms of large homes anywhere in Scotland. It comfortably sleeps more than 20, the gardens are gorgeous, the pool heated, and the kitchen and dining room enormous. The owner is a wonderful man and his staff, including Carole and Denise are truly fantastic to work with and simply lovely people. The property, even as perfect as it is, is kid friendly as well. I couldn't recommend a stay at Drumkilbo House more; choose it as you won't regret it.

I am the event organizer for For A Cause, www.rfac.org, and I rent large properties for our annual Breast Cancer and AIDS Ride Fundraising trips we I rented Drumkilbo House for our 2006 Scotland AIDS Ride and I have to say the accommodations were perfect for us and I believe would be perfect for any large group seeking self accommodating accommodations. We have very specific needs and while the property is self accommodating we have breakfast and dinners catered, and everything was perfect, on-time and delectable. The grounds were in excellent condition, the property is well maintained, bedrooms, common rooms, kitchen were all well equipped. Also, the onsite staff was very helpful with useful tips for the local area. I would highly recommend the property to anyone needing a property of this type. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
