Owner description: The Isle of Wight Zoo is home to one of Britain's largest collection of tigers, many of whom are rescue animals. With several superb new enclosures modeled on natural tiger habitats in India, the zoo is a fantastic place to see these wonderful animals relaxing. A number of other animals also live there, including lemurs, jaguars and lions. Family friendly with disabled access throughout.

Charlotte's Zoo has been a regular visiting place for me for over 12 years. If you like BIG cats then you'll love IOW zoo. You actually come to know the animals and their personality querks the more you visit. (My Wife is a big fan of Zia and I personally love Diamond.) Every animal is fantastic and the staff are more like one big family than any other working place I have seen. Our Guide on this occasion was Georgie whose passion and knowledge came through at every different animal we visited, We watched her brush Naala, get trampled on by meerkats and even joined her in sniffing monkey balls (yeah.....yeah.... they're a type of food for the primates!)

The front of house work is only bettered by the various conservation projects the zoo supports and the staff again are only too happy to explain to you exactly what your entrance fee helps to make happen.

Go to the zoo and make the most of the talks and like me you could well end up hooked on the "zoo on the beach" - ( Dedicated to Chiquita and Snoopy )

Nice little zoo, although is no more than a morning activity. You can get really close to the tigers but on our visit the white tiger wasn't around which my son was very disappointed about. The friendly staff told us the animals are more active in the afternoon but there wasn't enough there to do to keep my son entertained for very long. You're ticket lets you go in and out all day, had intended to pop back in the afternoon to see the tiger feeding but once we had left to go to the beach my son wasn't bothered about going back.

We visited this attraction last week with our three year old son.
On entering we were a little disappointed as the zoo seemed very run down and really didn't have a massive range of animals. (For £27)

However once we started to wander around and read the information we became more aware of the fact the 'zoo ' is more of a rescue centre/sanctuary. The work the zoo do is brilliant and they have some beautiful creatures. We listened to several of the keeper talks which were interesting. Our son has been telling us about his tigers ever since!
Overall a lovely afternoon.
