This was a last minute booking at the Tarvic which has been used before, and then at short notice. Our room was on the 2nd floor - bit of a climb if one is up to it, no lift available. Great view over the bay from the spacious accommodation (family room).
The room has recently been redecorated, so was in very good order, especially the ablution facilities - first class shower. No coat hangers, but we only had to ask. WiFi was supposed to be available throughout but didn't bork in the room. Tea making available in the room. The hotel was full during our visit but still quite peaceful. Very helpful and obliging staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Be aware there is a 2% loading on credit and debit cards. Something I get very annoyed about - a couple of pounds should cover any cost, or, it could be within the bill.......
Overall though a very pleasant couple of days stay.

Room Tip: If climbing stairs is a problem, do ask for a ground floor room and forgo the views.

Just returned from a weekend at Tarvic2hotel.The exterior is in the need of some maintenance, but inside was a lot better. The Staff were all friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms were clean, but the beds very firm and ours creaked every time we moved. The room had recently been decorated but the furniture was dark and this gave a poor impression of the room, which looked out onto a back wall, and had very little daylight coming into the room, we had to have the light on all the time. The breakfasts were fine, except for our last day when we had to leave at 7.30am and we had not been told it would only be cereal and toast, not a cooked breakfast. Evening meals were ok, apart from the ham salad I ordered one day, which consisted of half a bag of mixed leaves, half a tomato and two slices of cucumber. One evening we had waited for twenty minutes for a main course and having been the first in the restaurant asked had they forgotten us and were told, yes, they apologised and used the excuse they had been serving the private guests, not the coach party, although all other coach party guests had been served. We has an ethnic minority couple with a child staying in the coach party and found that the staff went out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible for them, even serving evening meal over an hour later than it should have been when they turned up.
Entertainment was a singer on the Saturday night but the bar prices were very reasonable and cheaper than the pubs in town.

Room Tip: Ring and ask if you can have front room. Although they don't look much from outside the view is...

Dated decor, rude staff, poor food, crumbling exterior. Value for money is rubbish. Pay £2 extra a night and stay somewhere with 5 star reviews. Only stayed for one night, thankfully. Worst place Ive ever stayed.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending the Isle of Wight festival.
Room was basic, with towels provided and tea making facilities. The beds are very firm as is stated by the hotel, but they weren't a problem. There is limited parking also.
Breakfast is also available, however we can't comment as we didn't have it.
We came back late on Sunday night and there was someone to let us in which was great.
The only real fault was getting woken up early by other guests! But that's it!

Room Tip: Maybe an upstairs room would be better as it's away from the restaurant and the office (with the...

My wife and I spent 7 days at the above hotel. We can't fault the hotel. We booked the break through Travel Style (we have used this company on numerous occasions) so we knew pretty much what we were getting for our money. In fact we've stayed at this hotel before. The hotel is being steadily refurbished and based on the room we stayed in the hotel should be very good when all work is completed. Towards the end of the week, we were the only couple in for the evening meal - the service, quality of the meal was excellent for just the two of us! Nothing was to much trouble. If there is a down side to the hotel, its the limited parking but taking into account its free overnight parking along the parade its not a major problem. We will be booking to go back next year.
