This is my third visit to Isle of Wight and this time we have booked a chalet from Rema Holidays for 2 nights. We had a great experience overall staying there. It was in an affordable price, we had discounted ferry tickets from Rema holidays and the welcome pack even included a small bottle each of red and white wines. That was a pleasant surprise.
The chalet itself was well planned and maintained throughout - really clean and fresh look, fresh bed linen provided, all the required basic stuff available in the kitchen, warm and cosy bedrooms, good size bathroom with a bath & shower, and no problems with hot water. The only slight problem in the bathroom was that the mirror was small and was in an awkward location. It is not above the wash basin but next to the toilet on the side wall towards the corner. Not the most convenient place to have a mirror so shaving was a bit tricky.
There is something for all the ages in this chalet - movies of different genres, some books & magazines, toys for kids and even some activity stuff for the kids. So you definitely will not get bored even if you are stuck in the room not going anywhere. A lot of thought and effort would have gone into planning and arranging all these.
Only a slight negative was some initial miscommunication around the booking which of course didn't affect our booking anyway and the messages around the coin operated electric meter. Standard text messages were sent out more than once regarding the coin operated electric meter. I usually don't carry much coins. So I had to make sure I collect few pound coins just for this. Later once we checked in we realised the coin operated electric meter was broken. Had to text Matt to make sure and he quickly assured we need not bother about the meter and the power won't go off.
The guests next door were a noisy bunch and were up until past midnight so we had some disturbed sleep on the first day. Other than that our holiday was perfect and we had a great time in Isle of Wight. Thanks to Matt and Becky. Looking forward to going there again.
The booking process was smooth with good communication from the owner.
I loved the chalet, it was done out with a nautical theme which I found very cute. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with plastic plates etc for children which I found really useful. There was plenty of open grass out the front for the children to play, and it was quiet enough for me to let the children play without too much supervision.
It's not far from the beach and is in a good location for nearby attractions.
We often visit family on the Isle of Wight and this is perfect for the children and I.
