If you ever have the opportunity to stay at the Kauri Cliffs you MUST. Perfection in every respect. From the personal greeting from the manager (Jay) to the friendly staff, divine location/view and impeccible Lodge and accomodation Villas the only regret we had was the fact we were only there 2 days. Whether a golfer or not there is something for everyone. The evening bbq on their private beach topped it off !

Room Tip: All the rooms are great - individual villas with a private balcony overlooking the gardens/golf cour...

An amazing experience from start to finish. The grounds and rooms are beautiful, the service impeccable and friendly, and everything you could want is a phone call away. Highly recommended to all (including non-golfers like us!)

We used to live in New Zealand, and always wanted to visit the wonderful Kauri Cliffs - but could never justify the very high prices. Last year we returned to NZ and sampled Cape Kidnappers for lunch and had a wonderful experience. So we decided that Kauri Cliffs for Christmas would be our big indulgence this year. And it was remarkable.

A wonderful remote setting, exquisite lodge and the most comfortable guest suites you could imagine. Very warm reception and the service was impeccable throughout our 3 days, being attentive in an understated way. You really do get the sense that you are staying at a relaxed and homely place, with roaring fires and Hamptons/ New England style furnishings set against the backdrop of beautiful panoramic views of the coastline.

The weather was awful and I did not get the chance to play golf. However, we did get a chance to hike down to the Pink Beach one day, and then hike to the old Kauri tree on our last day, which allowed us to walk the whole golf course. It is incredible to see and must be amazing to play.

The food was fine dining, and of a very high quality. The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is often used by the extremely wealthy but is not ostentatious and everyone was down to earth and friendly. There is a jacket for dinner rule which I prepared and packed for - but many do wear the hire/rental jackets which the Lodge provides, and rather strangely they pair this with all sorts of informal clothing and training shoes! So not a place where you have to dress up if you choose not to.

We thought the spa was rather small and very quiet - I never saw any staff in there. However, my wife had the Kiwi Mud Wrap treatment and said it was excellent.

In summary - virtually faultless and for that very special occasion will be a memorable experience.

While not golfers we enjoyed this resort enormously. At all levels it is perfection; the rooms, the common areas, the food, the service and the views - all fantastic. There is no shortage of things to do even for the non golfer. We hope to come back to Kauri Cliffs.

I stayed at Kauri for two nights in October 2012 - it was a great experience. One of the main reasons for the trip was to play golf - the course is amazing and maintained beautifully. We must have been there at a quiet time as for a while I was the only player on the course!

It is a very expensive place to stay, but I would recommend it to anyone to treat yourself. My wife was a bit concerned that it could be a bit over the top but we found all the staff to be incredibly friendly and we had a really relaxing stay.

The lodge is amazing and decorated in a Hamptons style - one of the highlights was having dinner in one of the private rooms overlooking the course and sea. There were not many people staying and rather than having our meal in an empty dining room we were treated to great food in front of a blazing fire.

The accomodation is also well worth the stay and equal to any luxury lodge we have stayed in Asia. Included is an open fire, very large walk in robe and bathroom with seperate bath and shower. Although expensive it would probably be three times the size of a typical hotel room.

I will certainly return on our next trip to New Zealand and would recommend staying here to anyone who can manage the cost - it's worth splashing out!

From the time you enter the private gate to the time you leave is an incredible experience. The grounds, the views, the golf course are amazing. The service level is of the highest quality. For dinner we had the sampling menu and every dish was perfect. It's just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy . If anybody would love to enjoy a unique experience Kauri Cliffs should definitely be on their list. I can not wait to go back

We live reasonably close to Kauri Cliffs, and have just visited again for lunch. Our latest visit was once again absolutely superb.

This is not just a nice restaurant, this is "fine dining" at its best. The food quality, the presentation, and the fresh ingredients really are exceptional. The staff are superb, friendly without being intrusive, and attentive ready for any assistance.

We have been to Kauri Cliffs several times, both to stay, and also for lunches. Each visit is unique and the management and staff are genuinely pleased to welcome their guests. Highly recommended.
