Brasilian cowboy legend Beto Carrero's park is a great day (or 2 or 3) out for the family. There is something for everyone from kids shows and rides plus a decent zoo, to the more adventurous and daring rides like the 'Fire Whip' suspension roller coaster and the 100m high drop tower. Shows are worth the price of admission especially the 'Extreme Show' car show - lots of burnt rubber with cars, bikes and a truck doing donuts and stunt driving including the biggest car loop in the world (so it was advised anyway). The life story show of Beto's life is pretty good but you need fairly decent portuguese to understand it.
As per any fun park queues are an issue so patience is a must. Food prices inside the park are higher than average but not exhorbitant. Need to pay extra for some of the attractions including the go kart track and a kiddy ride. You can also pay a small fortune to drive a 'Super Car' (Ferrari, Camaro, Lamborghini plus others) for a few kms if you so chose to do so - we didn't.
There is also a brand new International Standard Kart track just outside the park (with seperate entrance) which looks pretty good - did not go on this. It was designed by Herman Tilke, who has been hit 'n' miss with his F1 tracks but the kart track looks pretty good. Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa are there on 11-13th (approx) January 2013 to participate in a special karting event.
