The Hartebeespoort Dam and nearby Broederstroom area that this lodge is in is the weekend playground for many Johannesburg and Pretoria City Dwellers who want to escape to the Countryside.
Accomodation overnight is a bit pricey though adequate.
Daytrippers come largely for the ZIPLINE experience or are Mature Motorbike Brunch Runners
and very popular and the Bar Lunch and Buffet Lunch very popular.
The Zipline due to being on a flat downslope is not as high above the ground as are others and safety is thoroughly practised.
It passes over the areas typical dry thornbush vegetation with Zebra and Buck to be seen below.
popular so booking for the Zipline essential.
Very accessible Lodge because major or Toll Road from the cities pass by the front door.
Great for Day or weekend break.

The lodge was great to stay in everything was clean, they had same day laundry service, and delicious food. Staff weren't that friendly at reception but at breakfast buffet they were friendly. i did how ever forget My camera in my room when checking out(just moved to another room) and reported it to the front reception immediately. The room cleansers did not report anything left in the room which was very disappointing. The front reception did not appointment me to the right authority figure to make a report there for the lodge has no report of this incident. It would have been nice if they made any effort to assist me how ever they didn't.

The lodge provided good value and the food was excellent; however, the lodge itself was looking tired and the beds could stand new mattresses. The grounds could be kept better. The desk clerks at times appeared to not have a clue of what needed to be done.

This lodge provided clean, quiet, spacious rooms, although getting a bit tired. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent. There was no Internet connection in the rooms and you had to go to the main lodge for Internet service (which didn't always work).
For the price of the rooms, you got good value. Also good location, close to Hartbeesport Dam.
There was also things to do for children and adults, such as Segway tours and the zip line.

What a great getaway within 30 minutes of Sandton/Johannesburg or Pretoria. Perfect for a more sophisticated Sunday Breakfast, away from the noise. Small game roams the area, there are also Zip Lines for adventurers. Lovely view, tranquil, plus outstanding food. The Sunday Breakfast is a buffet, very reasonably priced, offering superb food for all tastes. One of my favourite spots when city life becomes too pressured and there's no time to go too far. Did not sleep over, but the rooms looked quaint and comfortable. There are swimming pools and a lovely deck for watching the beautiful valley. In my opinion, it would make a great wedding venue too!
