Have just come back from here for the second time, had a great time, good choice of food ,if you like b q ribs chicken salad beers and soft drinks you can go up the hill to Mary's and it comes in the all inclusive.got car out from al that's in the hotel, nice car with good tyres.went round the island and found millers by the sea .a must as you have the beach to your self till about 3pm then the local kids come to play football, food is good and solaman is a nice guy .only thing that needs a few tweaks in the hotel is they could do with new sun beds and a quiet bar as the only bar they have is very loud and if you just want to talk its impossible .

Room Tip: We have had beach front rooms, upper rooms have a nicer view

Have just returned from 10 fabulous days at Grand Pineapple staying in Room 214 which overlooked the garden and the gazebo, the gardens are immaculately kept and were being maintained constantly. The beach is absolutely fabulous with the white sand beach and the turquoise sea and reef at the end of the beach where you can feed the tropical fish. Food was very good if a little repetitive but there was always something new to choose from. Went to the Pineapple Grill twice had a good meal both times and thanks to Chervil for the great service. Staff were great always had a smile for you and always greeted you. Thanks to Leah in reception, Michael in the Topaz restaurant, Felicia and Sherry-Anne from activities, Bernadette for cleaning our room, and many others too numerous to mention. We had an absolutely fabulous time and have already decided that we will be back next year for another slice of paradise.

Overall, we had a great time. The main glitches unfortunately happened on arrival when you’re tired from the long trip and extremely long lines at the local airport and have not yet got into the special Caribbean “rhythm”.
Cons – I called several weeks ahead to ensure we would get 2 double beds and not one king because we were traveling with our daughter. I got the usual “no problem” and obviously got a king bed upon arrival. They promised to provide a cot “in 2 minutes” and would move us in a couple of days. We were not happy, but too tired to argue. We got to our room only to find they gave us the wrong key and we could not get back in. We later found out that this happened to several others as well. After complaining, they finally sent someone to open the door to let us in, who promised to return “in 2 minutes” with the right key for us. After a very long wait we finally got our correct key and extra cot for our daughter. The rooms are nice, but not overly large so a king sized bed and cot take up most of the floor. We half unpacked and went to visit some friends who got there the day before. Upon returning to the room, we found yet another cot had been brought up making pretty much a wall to wall bed and little room to get around. We finally lost it and demanded the cot be removed now (not “in 2 minutes”). Not a good beginning.
Pros – The cots (once we got the right number) are actually pretty comfortable and the view from our room, #516, was great. We decided to stay in the original room which was a good thing because they lost the request to change to a 2 double bed room anyway. The beach was beautiful and the water was, as always, wonderful. They had about the right number of lounges on the beach, but you had to reserve yours fairly early. The restaurants were fine, though we preferred the buffet where you did not have to wait for the staff to serve you (which could take a while). The dress code was a bit confusing, but we found that there is only one restaurant where men had to wear long pants and getting reservations for that was a real chore, though worth it once anyway. In general, the staff was courteous and fun and the bar tenders efficient.
Tips – If you want to get anything extra that the hotel did not provide, like a sunset cruise for us, just hook up with “Marvelous Marvin” on the beach (don’t worry, he will find you). You get the feeling that he could get you anything from a snorkeling expedition to a clutch plate for a 1971 Datsun and anything in between. He is efficient reasonable and very professional and fun to deal with.

If you are looking for a laid back holiday with a fantastic beach, then this is the place to go. We had a Garden View room (212) and we were very happy with this - quiet yet close to the beach etc and with a sea view and breeze. The beds were comfortable and the room was perfectly adequate. The Outhouse is wonderful - well worth the walk up. We went for the food and stayed for the view (and the ice cold lager!).The food at the resort is okay; I am a bit of a fussy eater but normally managed to find something to eat. It is not a posh upmarke' resort but it is a friendly, clean resort, with staff who are cheerful and helpful. The guys on the beach are friendly and are happy to walk on if you aren't interested in their wares. All in all I would recommend Grand Pineapple to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. I would also recommend the trip to Stingray City - an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: I would try a Tropical Waterfront room if I went back. The Oceanview rooms look to be a bit of an uphill trek - not something I would want to be doing everyday. Otherwise, the Garden View rooms around 212 (second floor) were as I described in my review.

We spent 6 days in March 25, 2013 . Here is what we experienced:

Pros: 1, The resort has direct access to the beach and the tropical waterfront room we got was very good with a view of the ocean from our balcony.
2. Rooms were well maintained but the bathroom will need some upgrades.
3. The staff are friendly in the restaurants and do a good job with the organzation with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
4. The bar is crowded so the barmen are overworked sometimes and the wait can be long to get a drink.
5. There are evening and nightly entertainment at the property so kids and adults will not get bored.

Cons: 1. At the time of check-in the package containg the information will include a free photo-session with the resort studio. We were also told that we could have a free photo taken at the studio during our stay.
When we approached the studio we were greeted with a friendly lady and were told that we could get our free photo at anytime during our stay. We had the photograher take our pictures and when we went to the studio the same lady told us that a free photo will be given only if we buy one of their package which starts at USD 70 to 140. Else, we have to pay USD 8 per print and no free photos will be offered. The friendlines that was there at the beginning did not exist with the same lady and we ended up paying for the pics. The coupon given at check-in did not have any fine print explaining these details.
If you have a good camera and do not want your pictures taken it would be good to stay away from the studio and the resort photographers who will track the guests on the beach to take photographs.
2. Rooms will not have drinking water so guests must walk to the bar area to keep drinking water in the rooms if they need it during the night.

3.The beer in the bar is watered down.
4. There are no ATM's in the property. If you need cash the reception will give you USD with a 10% fee.

5. There are a row of sovenir shops next to the resort. These are not part of the resort. The ladies running these shops are friendly. BEWARE of a middle aged man called Pat who runs 2 shops here. Once you enquire the prices with him and donot buy he will get aggressive. He threatened me that he would snatch the money from my pocket if I walk out without giving him any business. Also, if you are visiting St. John's, the market place there will sell the same souvenirs at a much cheaper rate.
6. Check out is at 11:00 in the morning. If you have a late evening flight one should be prepared for the wait.
7. Having visited other destinations and by comparing we feel the property is slightly priced high for the facilities they offer.

Room Tip: Tropical waterfront rooms have a good view of the property.
