Attended at 12 noon on a Sunday as a group of 7 and we had the place to ourselves. The dog was allowed in with no problems. The special was a ‘full shoulder of 12-hour slow roasted lamb’ - suggested to be shared between 3 or 4 people. We shared it between 5 and there was still enough spare to take home. The meat simply fell off the bone and melted in your mouth - exquisite. Add this to the good wine, friendly staff shabby chic decor and it made for a perfect Sunday meal. Will be coming back here without a shadow of a doubt!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Thank you to all the FOH and chefs, we had one of the best evenings we've had in a long, long time.
We were recommended The Roxburgh by a lovely couple who live in Whitley Bay and they said it was a must visit, so we did... all the way from York for one night and it didn't disappoint.
Food and wine couldn't get any better and pricing was very reasonable.

Can't wait to come back, hopefully sooner than later.

After having a couple of lovely evening meals here we decided to try the Sunday lunch. Starters - choice of three, we had the Isle of Wight tomatoes with breadcrumbs and consommé, and gorgeous grilled peaches with lettuce and prosciutto. We both had beef which was cooked rare and just melted in the mouth. Proper huge homemade Yorkshire and al dente veg. Clearly the chef has a lot of talent, couldn’t recommend it enough.

Gorgeous home made food. £14 for Sunday lunch £6/£6.50 for puddings. But worth every pound. The meat and veg were cooked to perfection. Came here as I had read reviews and so glad we did. Staff extremely friendly and professional
