Wanted to take my disabled mother in law for lunch somewhere local to her. Checked out trip adviser and decided to give the Beehive a visit because of the positive reviews and the fact they could accommodate a wheelchair. The first obstacle, wheelchair access was tight and she could not remain in her chair and eat at the table as these were too low. We sat near the door and perhaps this was not the best location as it was cold, had tables been higher we would have sat somewhere else. The food is cooked to order so there was a delay but we knew this from the reviews. The food was of a good standard but nothing to write home about, other than the lemon tart which was very tasty. Staff were cold and unwelcoming, almost robotic, perhaps down to the hatch food ordering system which cuts down on interaction with customers! We were disappointed with our experience despite the reviews and the authentic feel of the place which I would give 10/10.

Visit the beehive at least once a week with my partner, if not for food, just a relaxing drink and friendly chat. Visited several times over the bank holiday and half term period. The BBQ was fantastic, the koftas were to die for, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The lamb burgers were also bursting with flavour. Not only do you get service with a smile but Shaun always makes his customers laugh, and it is clear they are the heart of everything he and Joanne do at the beehive.
We also visited on Sunday night and had a fish platter to share. The homemade tarter sauce and sweet chill topped it off. Full of flavour and colour. Particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon. As it was a Sunday we decided to treat ourselfs to a dessert, I have the summer berry Eton mess which was amazing and so big I couldn't finish it all. My partner has the knickerbocker glory which was bursting with fruit. Very nice indead.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. There is something for everyone, from the beer garden to the secret garden for children. Shaun and Joanne go our of there way to accommodate for everyone no matter how busy it is.
We will be back very soon.

No usual bar per se but 2 authentic, traditional serving hatches in keeping with the pubs 350 year history.

Excellent food and excellent service.

This really is a pub that has retained traditional values and charm.

Watch out for those low beams.

Looking forward to our next visit

We were a table of 12 on a busy bank holiday Sunday and the service and food was just briliant.
I was worried when we arrived (we had booked but only if 7 or more) as it was so busy and it was late in the afternoon but the table was reserved and everything we ordered was still available and perfectly cooked.
They certainly look after you and the place is so cosy and the food gorgeous.
Thank you once again Beehive love it!

After a couple of hours shopping at Boundary Mills we called in here for food.
Had a couple of good pints of real ale and excellent haddock and chips.
Service was pretty good even though they were busy. The only slight irritation was a sign saying 'we don't serve fast food - we serve fresh food as fast as we can' Why can't they just politely say something like 'food is freshly cooked to order so we apologise if you have to wait a while'
Overall very good though.
