“Plays and Performances”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

This has been here for years. It has now got a huge car park but it still gets filled up on a play night so go earlier to get parked. The foyer is larger now and the drinks are quite expensive even for soft drinks. The theatre itself is a lovely theatre and the sits are comfortable. We recently went to see a musical called Carousel. An old film which I saw on the television years ago and so I thought I would enjoy it. However, the singers were not as good as the originals and I could not get away with every single line being sang. We left at the interval. I would go back though as this was just a matter of taste. Amateur productions are just that, don't expect too much. You can get posts online as to what's coming up and they will send out a booklet if you ask for one. It is a nice night out for an occasional couple of times a year.

“Evening with Charlie Landsborough”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Excellent evening in Whitley bay was there to see Charlie Landsborough which was very enjoyable. Had excellent meal at Thai restaurant nearby. Although very cold the area is one which we intend to visit again in the summer. Beach was sandy and will be fab in hotter weather

This local refurbished theatre gives excellent opportunities for people in the north east to see a variety of first rate productions at very reasonable prices.

Great venue and attentive, polite staff. Good value and we all enjoyed ourselves. A bit tricky to find parking - but there are car parks nearby.
