“Lovely little theatre, pricey refreshments.”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

This is a lovely theatre situated in Whitley Bay, there are various different acts on from comedians and sinegrs to pantomines at Christmas. The ticket prices are very reasonable and the whole building has been really well refurbished with comfortable seating and spacious reception areas. The drinks and snacks offered at the bar area are really very expensive, but is to be expected in this kind of establishment especially considering the reasonable price of the tickets. A good night out with plenty of parking next door.

“great venue”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

hadn't visited here for years and was really suprised at the change. the playhouse attracts a varying crowd of all ages to some great shows, comedy, music gigs etc, all of which are really well priced. the building is very modern, wheelchair friendly and has clean facilities. the seating in the auditorium is well organised with no restricted views no matter where you're sitting. it has a good drinks and snack bar. the staff are very helpful too. easy to get there with ample parking. all in all, a great venue with something for everyone.

“Elf and safety spoils it”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

One member of our party had the tickets. They came last. The rest of us were kept shivering outside due to "elf and safety" - couldn't trace us in case of fire etc. Should take lessons from the Sage and most other places. Typically local council run? Upstairs bar rarely open, so have to go downstairs and queue. This could e an excellent view if it thought of itself as a commercial enterprise.
