“Perfect getaway cottage.”
Reviewed December 6, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

I visited the Isle of Man on my own in November and Roy Cottage proved to be the perfect base for my visit. It is situated near the harbour in Castletown and with wonderful views across the bay. The cottage is not only very tastefully decorated but is also very well equipped and has obviously been restored to a very high standard in recent years. It was also very warm which made it a very cosy place to be after a day out exploring in the cold. It is a very good touch that you are met at the property on arrival with everything explained that you need to know. In addition there's a very good instruction manual for anything you need. A wonderful stay. thank you.

Roy Cottage is well situated for a holiday on the Isle of Man. We were met by the lady who looks after the cottage- she showed us around & made us feel welcome. The cottage overlooks the Bay, is close to the shops, pubs, restaurants & the harbour. It is clean, well equiped & has everything we needed for our stay. Although Castletown is at the south of the island, nowhere is more than an hour away.Well worth a stay.

“Spotless Fisherman's cottage overlooking the sea”

Everything we could wish for: characterful cottage over 3 floors, but light, modern interior and fully equipped kitchen. Lovely sea views. Quiet. The road outside had little traffic and the sea was on the other side! Excellent location. The town is a five minute stroll, with two general stores, several cafes, and a magnificent castle. Restaurants best avoided, but Douglas and Peel are easy to get to on the efficient buses -or take the steam train! The station is 7 mins from the cottage. We got a very reasonable 5 day pass for all transport and travelled the whole island. Locals say Mann gets 4 seasons in a day. If you don't want to go out, you can relax and read or watch TV in the sitting room or downstairs in the kitchen. You don't feel cramped (my husband is 6'6) Wifi too. Best of all is the support by owner Julie. We spoke and emailed before the booking, and she ensured all was well when we were there, even though she was on holiday herself. Also thanks to local rep Viv who met us on arrival and gave us lots of info and her telephone number. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location with beautiful views. The cottage is very comfortable and provides all you would need for a self catering holiday. Castletown itself is a lovely little place with lots to offer right on your doorstep. It helped we were blessed with wonderful weather later in the season but we came away absolutely delighted with the accommodation and the location. Julie the Owner and Viv the local contact and management were lovely to deal with. Highly recommended.

“Clean, well-equipped self-catering accommodation”

Enjoyed our stay in Roy's cottage.

Kitchen is very well equipped, we cooked on more than one occasion. The cottage is clean and well looked after.

Booking was straightforward, manager was very communicative and helpful. There was someone waiting for us on arrival and we were given a mobile number for use during our stay if needed.

Good location -- just a short walk to local shops, pubs and restaurants. Can also walk to train station for trains to Douglas, Port Erin etc.

“Splendid, relaxing week”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed at Roy Cottage during the Southern 100 road racing bike week, and this proved to be an excellent decision. The cottage is in an ideal location on the sea front in Castletown, and is beautifully and comprehensively equipped. When we arrived (late at night) it was immaculate, and we had no issues whatsoever throughout the week. We will be back.
