They say they have 30 bedrooms - 27 deluxe and 3 family. They show a picture of a lovely room with a two seat settee but was like any other modern chain hotel ie fairly small and basic with a single chair. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The shower is a fixed head type and one of the push buttons on the taps was missing but it still worked. Breakfast is unpredictable: 1st morning buffet style in function room as coach party in, 2nd morning same but coach party had already gone so no croissants or danish pastries left, 3rd morning in restaurant with choice of cooked breakfast offered and tea served in pots and cafetieres of coffee, last morning still in restaurant but back to buffet unless you wanted kippers.

Decided to stop for some lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Sat outside at first due to having our dog with us but the waitress said we are more than welcome to sit inside (lounge).
Food was great and very tasty (Fish & chips, Tuna Sub) definitely worth the money. Service was superb - staff very welcoming, helpful and cheerful.

Ramsey Park Hotel, well we arrived around 10.30pm, maybe a bit later. This was after a quick unlit dash across the mountain. Check in was easy and the bar was still open, so time for a couple of jars then to bed. Breakfast was excellent, buffet style, but all items well cooked and presented. We were only staying here on a B&B basis, but that was enough to know the food would be good here, no matter what board you were on. At night-time we ate out in the locale but our last call for a few drinks, was always the hotel bar. The standard of the rooms is excellent, with pretty much all you can think of being in the room. The staff were excellent and made us feel really welcome, would we go again, of course. Its a brilliant hotel, in a great location. Many thanks to all at the Ramsey Park Hotel for providing us with a great week-end.

Room tip: There are no bad rooms.

Our stay was with a coach party 14-18 September. Make no mistake, this hotel has serious problems. The hotel’s senior management both at hotel & Classic Lodges group level needs to act without delay. As the hotel opened in 2012 & the redevelopment claimed to be ready by April this year our group should not have had to act as shakedown crew.
Nearly all the staff we met were pleasant & genuinely doing their best but some were clearly new, under trained & inadequately supervised. On the night we arrived the newly employed barmaid, on her own, was in tears & clearly stressed out. On our penultimate day a young man, Gordon Graham, I believe himself a new employee, realised our group was unhappy listened carefully & noted points being made. The claimed “immaculate service” in the brochure is a myth.
Hotel reception is inexplicably at one end of the bar. Sorting out reception issues with adjacent queuing drinkers is unacceptable. The bar never had enough staff & the seemingly over complicated electronic till – apparently susceptible to crashing - was a delay inducing pinch point, resulting in a frustrating queue for service and/or paying. One customer focussed barmaid asked me to have the drink just served on the house as my meal was going cold. Another bar, subsequently opened – but not announced – was better.
We dined in what I think is the conference room & the experience was dire. It took at least 30 minutes from sitting down to getting any food. If evening menus were available for selection at breakfast, as at other hotels, a good deal of time would be saved. Over two hours for basically a pub meal is stretching patience.
Vegetables, clearly frozen, were the same each night. Delivered in a single bowl to the centre of a circular table for nine made self serving difficult. The scrambled egg & optional porridge at breakfast we saw resembled building site mortar. For whatever reason fried eggs were unavailable. I had an optional kipper & this was fine, albeit delivered when I had just started my cereal. My wife also had optional poached eggs but had to get her own toast from the machine.
Our room – 502 – was up to standard, almost. A second request for more soap was answered with ‘sorry, none available, out of stock’. We found a malteser left by a previous visitor on the carpet by the dressing table. On a positive note hot water was plentiful, towels fluffy & the Wi-Fi good.
After settling our account the night before departure our room key card stopped working. Luckily the – again new – girl on reception knew how to fix.
The advertised view “…….overlook the pretty Ramsay promenade” also included two skips on a building site, one of which contained old loos.
Two car clubs were visiting (Triumph & Lotus) & car parking space looked good.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay in this modern hotel which had great décor. Our room was a new ensuite and decorated to a high standard. We had a comfy king sized bed, spacious bathroom with a large shower cubicle, 32” TV, free Wi-Fi and great views overlooking both the lake and the promenade. It was quiet at night so we had no problem getting good night’s sleep. The hotel had ample parking too. It was perfectly situated with only a few minutes walk to Ramsey centre via the harbour swing bridge. All the reception, breakfast, bar and restaurant staff were great. The breakfast had both hot and cold buffet food to suit all tastes. We would recommend staying here if you are coming to Ramsey.
