This restaurant is worth a visit from almost any point on the Island. We headed over from Douglas for a family meal and had great service and great food. Starters and main courses set a very high standard which desserts probably didn't quite match. But the overall experience was fantastic, helped along by attentive service from interested (but not intrusive) staff.
Great seafood - well sourced too.
Good wine list with bottles at affordable prices.

My new wife and I had our wedding reception here. We wanted something intimate. The staff were helpful every step of the way through menu choices, to wine. The food was fantastic, no other restaurant on the island comes close! Would recommend to literally anyone!

We went to this restaurant as part of a 50th birthday party. Didn't know what to expect but we were delighted with the food and the service. Predominantly fish or seafood, however, there are one or two other things for meat eaters. Service was good and staff were friendly and efficient. It won't be the last time we go there.

My wife and I visited the Boatyard for lunch on Tuesday 19th November. I had read the reviews on this site before booking and note there were some teething problems soon after opening however I am pleased to say these are a thing of the past. We were booked in at 12:30pm however turned up approx. 30 minutes early due to the cold weather. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, shown straight to our table and offered drinks. Soon afterwards we were brought a special menu for their scallop festival which ran 19/11/13 to 24/11/13. We placed our orders, starter to share, two main courses & two glasses of wine. Food was brought promptly, was nicely presented and very tasty. We decided to share a dessert and have a tea and coffee afterwards, all were again promptly delivered and without fault. We called for the bill and like the 'message in a bottle' touch.

The Boatyard is not cheap by Isle of Man standards however it fits nicely into the 'you get what you pay for' category. An enjoyable lunch and we look forward to visiting again.

We went to the Boatyard after a superb meal at its associated restaurant, Tanrogans in Douglas earlier in the week. We were not disappointed!

The décor and ambiance even on a slow Thursday evening which was great was enlivened by two great waiters for whom nothing was a problem.

The food, while short of the very high standard set by Tanrogan, was very good nonetheless and enjoyed hugely! The quirky addition of butter served in sardine tins and bread in a sort of metal lunch box, showed a lot of thought has gone into every little detail.

Truly worth a visit or five!!
